I know the vest will go to Tobias, and rightfully so, but I gave it to Dedmon because I wanted to give him some love. He's been playing a lot better lately and I'm really loving the energy and defense he's been bringing. Tonight was a really good game for him and I hope it's a sign of things to come.

With that said, Tobias played very well and seems to be learning from a lot of his mistakes. He's definitely maturing and I think it's starting to really show. He's not forcing up bad shots too often and is just taking what the defense is giving him. I also liked how he was going to the right spots for the open 3's when Dipo drives to the basket, that will help not only him but Dipo as well because people won't want to leave Harris as much to help out.

I voted for Tobes

It's nice seeing Dipo and Fournier both having a nice game. I was beginning to wonder if they were having trouble co-existing

My concern with Harris getting a vest here is that his volume scoring was not during intervals were the Magic broke through. Indeed, Ben Gordon is a guy who when on the floor, the Magic advanced their lead. The same goes for Payton.

I still voted for Harris through. Being a stat-factory in wins is worth a vote.

“The player of the game should Dewayne Dedmon, to be honest,” Frye said. “I think he won this game with his energy, blocking shots, rebounding, being able to stop the ball.”

Told of Frye’s comment, Dedmon raised his eyebrows in disbelief.

“I don’t know about that,” Dedmon said, smiling. “It’s definitely gratifying. I’m just looking to improve and do better than what I’ve done before.”

Dedmon then credited his teammates.

Dedmon. Shut down the interior for 3 quarters. SAC went on that 16 pt run with him on the pine.
Showed his value in this particular game....

Harris, but I like what Frye is doing there. Dedmon was a beast.

I agree, one or two of those corner 3s were when we needed it to stop their run, and no matter if he was scoring or not he can stretch the floor and draw more defensive pressure, Gay had a so so night prob because he had a hard time with Tobias on the other end, and that occurs the whole time he is on he floor

With that said I voted for Dedmon lol, I expect Tobias to have these kinda nights, on the other hand this will probably be a game Dedmon tells his grand kids about, dude was stellar.

I thought it was a stretch to give it to Harris against the Jazz because he finally showed up in one quarter and hit two corner threes. But four corner threes? Stay warm over these next few days!

Don't forget his defense on Rudy Gay. He didn't "shut him down" but he stayed in front of him and made him work on the other end defending his own post-ups. One of his best games of the season. This is NOT an expected, ho-hum night for him. We need a lot more of this kind of production within the flow of the offense.

Special shout-out to Elfrid's stat line: 8/5/6/1 is right about what I'd like to see from him every night, plus or minus a number or two. I don't think he's going to be able to rack up assists with the ball in Vic's hands so much (which is great if Oladipo keeps playing like this). I still like how he finds ways to contribute, like key late-game rebounds, steals, etc. He's also trying out clutch attacks to the rim. Whether he makes or misses, he's getting valuable experience that will pay off in the long run.

Went with Tobes, but again like the Jazz game Dedmon was playing great glad to see it wasn't a one game thing. BG though was my number 2 its really nice having a 6th man who other teams know can get hot and put a lot of focus on him opening things up for others, nice when he hits shots as well.

We still need to learn to close out games though, teams ala the GS will jump at the chance and steal the game.
