With a bit more growth/development, Dedmon could be the perfect, full-time, compliment to Vuc.

I still don't understand that guy. He makes great hustle plays, but he has no finesse. He has impressive strength and confidence, but doesn't make anything look easy. So strange but mesmerizing at the same time!

I like Deadmond to replace KO but not be our starting PF. He can be a nice rotational layer for us tho. I like O''quinn but we can afford to let him walk.

^^ Every single highlight featured Evan Turner and a bunch of ground-bound shrimps in the paint.

Not every game will go that well, but credit them for taking advantage. Vic looked a lot "stronger" toward the basket at times tonight.

yeah, but if Elf's got that floater going, doesn't really matter who's defending him. not many defenders can stop that (not Elf's particular floater, but floaters in general).

I think seeing Dedmon take over Kyle O'Quinn's role in the lineup has to rank up there with most surprising developments of the season for me. It's been completely deserved as well, O'Quinn's performance and effort, especially defensively has taken a nosedive. While Dwayne has been a beast on the boards and the blocks.

IDK what was worse, watching Crowder and Turner play or having to look at Payton's hair for an entire game. Somebody do that guy a favor and hold him hostage at a barbershop until he cuts that..my godness.

I know it's mostly in jest and it's only a few bad apples but sometimes I worry about their personal safety. ;)

Keep close to Dewayne if you walk around the mean streets of Boston, Elfrid.

Elf has the coolest hair in the league, and it's not really close.

I would love to see us hire an elite assistant for JB. Someone like Doug Collins. He has said hed be interested in that kind of role too.

Doug Collins was on the BS report a week or two ago, said at 63 years old he felt like he was done coaching. I like him though, he always got screwed in year 3 with his teams though, mainly due to circumstances out of his control unlike Skiles. He coached Jordan when they fired him for Phil Jackson, that had to suck watching them tear up the 90s.

He also said on the BS report that he could see himself working as an assistant to a young coach.

I have to 2nd that. Elf has got an attitude on and off the court that I like.

I was gripping a lot on Henny since last summer, part of it was that I was butthurt on not taking Exum, other part was signing Charmin Frye to 4 years contract. But one thing I have to admit: Henny knows talent. He drafted and traded like a king for us. I'm really impressed with Oladipo, Elf and also Aarons potential and abilities.

Now, IF Elf could add a jumper to that hair, man... IF he could do that....wow. All 3 guys could potentially have the whole package.

Agree with this. JB has actually run some good plays out of timeouts (isn't that what people hated about Vaugh?). Here is an article about JB and his better Xs and Os:

http://www.nba.com/magic/news/borrego-p ... d-os-coach

The Harris shot impressed me and really showed how a good coach can utilize our talent.

Also, people mention the soft part of our schedule. But lets not forget that Vaughn couldn't beat bad teams. At this point in the development of these players, we shouldn't be consistently beating good teams. We should be winning games we should be winning, and being competitive in other games. This team is young, and going to get better.

If we end up with 30 wins by going .500 the rest of the way, I think he keeps his job.

I said it before and I'll say it again. This team is completely different when Dedmon is in there. The dude plays EXACTLY like Ben Wallace and we need to keep him and start him. He has DPOY potential. He's a hustle and energy guy. That's 95% of what defense is. Everything else is knowing rotations and when to help, which he knows how to do as well.
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

great highlights but man i'll tell you watching those Elfrid highlights really made me realize the potential this kid has, man if he can put it together he can be special. He got the ball-handling, passing ability and vision you want out of a PG, he got the speed in the open court to really put pressure on the defense. He's got the defense, already in his first year one of the better defensive PG's in the league if i'm not mistaken. This off-season is going to be big for him, he doesn't need to be a great shooter he only needs to get that jumper to a level where the defense has to respect it then his game will really take off.

Dedmon does not have DPOY potential. He's a poor man's Hassan Whiteside. Enjoy him for what he is instead of trying to make him into something he's not.

I'm going to make a thread for offseason todo lists but it's going to be years upon years before teams "respect" his jumper. Think about all the superstars where teams are still content to let them shoot: John Wall, etc.

I've said many times Elf can play EXACTLY the same as he does now, but a 5-10% increase in efficiency on floaters, layups, and free throws would be huge. He has already demonstrated the craftiness, strength, and change of speed to get those shots at will. He just needs to get the ball in the hole once he gets there. That's what he needs to do this summer.

He could also use a tolerable corner 3, say 30% shooting from that spot. Not as a threat but just to take wide open shots at the end of the clock if Oladipo is running a play so Elf doesn't totally destroy the flow. At least get it on the rim for Vuc to tip it in!

now i need to see more but maybe just maybe the magic front office was right about Harkless and Nicholson. I remember reading something that said that Henny and JV had different opinions about Hark and Nicholson and didn't trade them to see if they could get more out of them with a different coach. Well......different coach and as of now we are getting more out of them, that being said i still need to see more but from what i see they look like different players. Got some fire in their belly so to speak

Yeah the question is whether they can bring it for 82 games. Everyone gets pumped up with a sense of urgency down 20 and in a close game. I'd love it if they do! There are plenty of minutes to go around on this team. We don't need to play our core 4 starters 40 MPG all the time.
