i thought it was pretty obvious that you said you wanted to trade Vuc, when you started a thread positing a trade of Vuc for Noah, not based on rumors but your own feelings and saying that it "makes sense."

Nah, Vuc is already looking much improved on defense. Skiles is doing great work with him. If he continues to grow on that end, then he's gonna be a complete two-way player.

BlueBalls, I have to ask; have you watched Noah play basketball in the past 2 seasons?

I'm not even joking, you must of fallen into a coma right after he won DPOY a few years ago and came out of the coma last night and the first thing you did was watch last night's game.

Vooch looked serviceable on Defense yesterday. I think he shines in Skiles system. If anything, it is other players mistakes on defense which makes Vooch appear worse than he is.

Having Noah would compensate for those mistakes however. Currently vucevic offers no resistance at the rim. The thought of attacking vuc at the basket is inviting for other teams.

Did you watch the game? Vuc challenged nearly every shot in the paint that he could.

You might have a point, that by reputation opposing teams don't fear going into the paint against Vuc, but I'll be happy if they do and he manages to anchor our defense the way he did last night. Washington shot 47% from less than 6ft last night, which is good for giving Orlando the 3rd best paint defense right now, after one game.

Vuc's defensive effort last night should have bought him more time in the eyes of even his harshest critics, unless we really want to hang that last second lay up on him.

He had a good game overall last night, but that last defensive sequence in the paint was just pathetic. He didn't even contest.

This is a complete hypothetical, fyi. Not grounded in any rumors or actual scuttlebutt.

Noah doesn't seem to fit Hoiberg's plan. But he'd be a great fit for Skiles.

Vucevic would fit in a lot better in a Hoiberg offense.

Magic would instantly be, perhaps, the best defensive team in the league. We would miss Nik's scoring, but Noah can hold his own in the paint and it would probably end up resulting in a lot more shots for AG.

Just spitballing here. Thoughts?

Sorry for all the rude comments you're getting, but the idea of trading one of the best centers in the league for a player who isn't even starting on his own team right now does not make a lot of sense for our young roster.

Sure, we'd all love a bruiser down low who is going to grab 15 rebounds a night, but there are always caveats to having that type of player. They can't shoot free throws well, their outside game isn't the greatest, and they're often one dimensional when it comes to offense and defense.

I love Vuc on our team, I thought he played some good defense last night, he just got put up against an NBA Superstar who is at times near unstoppable. Give him a break, there is no one out there we're going to obtain with in reason that's better than Vuc.

Yeah, that's a fair call. His hand should have been up that whole time. But that's the difference between a natural defender, and where Vuc is at now. I reckon with more tutelage from Skiles, he'll learn to defend those plays better. You can see that Vuc didn't want to commit to going for a block too early, thinking Wall was going to push in for a layup at the rim. Credit to Wall for seeing the opening and pulling up for a quick jumper - but that's what an all star can do.

Tobias also failed in that sequence. He was dancing on the spot, unsure of whether or not he should come across for help D, or if he should be ready to run out to the perimeter to guard Porter. It was a bit of a team fail, but yeah, I'm sure Vuc and the coaches are on Vuc about that last play.

That play was incredibly simple, it was just a high screen, wall caught vuc backpedaling and bumped off him and hit a floater. Easiest gamewinner ever. And it wasnt just that play either vucevic looked soft drfensively the entire second half.

Having Noah would mean a center who can't score, who hardly plays 30 mpg and is injured half the time. Vooch a top 5 rebounder in the entire league, a top post scorer who can hit from up to 20 feet consistently, is decent on defense and can last a season. Vooch is already a top 10 center while still improving. I say improve the team around him with good team defense and Vooch is perfect for a solid defensive team. A defensive specialist isn't going to make this team any better replacing Vooch, period.

Let's also trade Oladipo for Corey Brewer and everybody else on our roster for Horford. Then sign Taurean Green and Lee Humphrey. #championship.
