If he keeps up this level of play, he'll get at least 14mil. Whether that's from the Magic or not I don't know.

Let's give him some more time to see how his defensive metrics pan out. If he really can guard 2s and 3s at a high level -- which seems unlikely over the course of a season -- then he's basically a smaller Khris Middleton. Someone who doesn't appear to be off to a great start this season, for what it's worth.

Please don't forget his hot start last season. Long way to go.

I dont believe he is, because i think a MAX player should be a stud on offensive and defensive side of the ball.

that said, he keeps up this early season production he is putting up, i could see him getting max offers.

and anyone who thinks he signs for less than $12mil hasnt been paying attention to the tv money coming in

Shooting guard is still a pretty weak position, so he'll get his fair share of offers. I wouldn't be shocked to see him get the Khris Middleton deal if he keeps this up.

Yea the khris middleton contract seems fair because of his versatility offensively and defensively. He has been our best player so far this season and oladipo has been disappointing so its fair to say we may just give oladipo's money ro fournier but then there is another cap increase so it wont matter.

No way is he a max player.

He will make good money if he can maintain his production.

He's not a max guy cos he's not singlehandedly winning games, but he's obviously a very large part of it. He's a #2/3 option guy right now.

Can we trade him for Durant? He's getting the max.

You've got to be kidding me. The same people who thinks he deserves 16 mil a year thought Tobias Harris deserved it. Never seen a fan base who wants to max out or overpay every role player on the team.

Your numbers need to be adapted so that the value of your choices take the coming cap inflation into consideration:

Terence Ross Money 3 yrs 33 mil 11 per = 3yrs 39 mil 13 per
Spoiler:
Terrence Ross's contract value is 12.3% of the avg salary cap for the duration of his three year contract. For Fournier to get a similar contract his deal would have to be of similar proportion:

2015-16 salary cap 70m + 2016-17 salary cap 89m + 2017-18 salary cap 110m = Total salary cap of contract years = 269m
Average Salary Cap = 269m/3y = 89.67m

2015-16 salary 11m + 2016-17 salary 11m + 2017-18 salary 11m = Total salary of contract = 33m
Avg Annual Salary = 11m

Avg Salary Cap 89.67m / Average Annual Salary 11m = 12.3% of avg salary cap

To get equivalent contract taking cap increases into consideration:

2016-17 salary cap 89m + (2017-18) 110m + (2018-19) 117.8m* = Total salary cap = 316.8
AVG Annual Salary cap: 316.8 / 3 yrs = 105.6m
12.3% (TR contract %) x 105.6m = 13m
3 yrs 39 mil 13 per

*using a 7% cap increase for year not yet forecast by NBA

Kris Middelton Money (5yrs 70 mil 14 per) = 5 yrs 78.5 mil 15.7 per
Spoiler:
KM AVG Annual Salary Cap = 70 + 89 + 110 + 117.7 + 126.1 = 512.9 / 5 = 102.6
KM AVG Annual Salary = 14m
KM contract value = 14 / 102.6 = 13.6% of AVG salary cap

New AVG Annual Salary Cap for new 5yr contract = 89 + 110 = 117.7 + 126.1 + 134.93 = 577.73 / 5 = 115.55
For Equivalent KM contract = 13.6 % x 115.55 = 15.7m for 5 yrs

Tobias Harris Money (4 yrs 64 mil 16 per) = 4yrs 74 mil 18.5 per
Spoiler:
TH AVG Annual Salary Cap = 70 + 89 + 110 + 117.7 = 387.7 / 4 = 97
TH AVG Annual Salary = 16m
TH contract value = 16 / 97 = 16.5% of AVG salary cap

New AVG Annual Salary Cap for new 4yr contract = 89 + 110 + 117.7 + 126.1 = 110.7
For Equivalent TH contract = 16.5% x 110.7 = 18.5m for 4 yrs

Max Money 3/4/5 18.5 mil per = $22.25 mil per
Spoiler:
A 2016-17 Max contract for a player with 0 - 6 year experience 25% of salary cap: 89mil)

Is he max player? NO
Will he sign max(or close to max) contract? YES
There will be to much money to burn in league next season, cap space teams have is just redic, if he keep his stats through season, someone gonna throw max $$$ at him, he is in great position. I dont see him in magic longrun with this kind of contract, expecting S&T if big trade doesnt happen be4 TD.

I'd be more willing to spend whatever needs to be spent to keep him than I was willing to do so for Tobias last year, and I was big on keeping Tobias. Evan's 23, he's a great scorer and is dangerous in so many ways on O, he's a capable defender and is improving. He's got a high bball IQ, has a good feel for the situation, and is a good leader. I like listening to his post game remarks more than any of the players. Most of the time I feel like I'm listening to coach speak when I hear our players talk, but him you can tell there's more thought. He keeps the ball moving when he's out there.

We have so much raw talent, him and Vuc are by far the most polished players. He's probably the 3rd or 4th most important asset to this team right up there with AG's potential, Elfrid's potential, and Vuc's value. He's only 23, and I've said before, after watching him early last season, his development deserved as much priority as Dipo, but Evan definitely got forgotten last year, and it wasn't all because of his injury problems.

And whatever, I'm starting to settle into the thought that I just want to watch good basketball from this era, and not be so "championship or bust". I just want to see these guys develop chemistry and see how far that and their talent can go, and Fournier is a lot of things on this roster, but he's very much a glue guy. And who would we be saving the cap space for? I'm not getting my hopes up for any marquee players coming here anymore. But even if we were a possibility in their eye, this will lose a lot of appeal if Evan's not on it.

I don't think any player on our team is currently worth the max.

But that hasn't stopped lots of players who were not worth the max from getting it...

That's the problem with restricted free agency when it comes to a productive, starting caliber young player ending his rookie deal. There will always be a team somewhere that is high on him and are willing to pay a premium to pull him onto their squad. If 1 out of 30 teams thinks a restricted guy is worth a max, he's getting a max.

He's playing a TON of minutes and his numbers are good but not max worthy. I don't think it's even close. Not max, 4/48 should get the job done.
