So Durant to GSW. Dipo's time on a legit contender was what? Two weeks?

May as well contract the league to 10 teams. Pay everyone a flat salary and let them choose who they want to play with. That's what it is now anyway, for all intents and purposes.

This kind of crap is going to kill the league, at least the small to mid market parts of it. And don't try to use GSW as a counterexample - it was a perfect confluence of a lot of fortunate events. Ridiculously fortunate drafting, timing (both in terms of the cap as well as the players that became available to them in that 2 year window) and the structure shift of the cap and pay scale.

And say what you will - Durant is a coward. He played the role of the shrinking violet so well in the final 3 games of that series he should have won an oscar. Then, instead of having another go at it with an even better team, which is what true competitors do, he quit and joined up with the guys that beat him.

Didn't like GSW before - hate them now.

Am I the only one who doesn't see this as a guaranteed title move for GS? They always had firepower. What made them special was the defense and depth around that firepower. The gutted their bench and took a step back on defense.

At the end of the day, there are only so many shots in a game. Players need to contribute in other ways. That is why Draymond is so valuable. Steph and Durant on the same team isn't a big plus for me.

They will be very good but I'm not buying it that they already own the 2017 championship.

yeah, durant's a bitch in my book. you choke away a 3-1 lead to these guys and then go and join them the next year? unbelievable. i hope a tornado touches down on the runway when he's getting off the plane for that first game back in okc.

depth or no depth, hard to see this team losing to the clippers, cavs, thunder (obviously) or spurs in a 7 game series.

This "league killing" going on is the players fault. They were too greedy and didn't think about the future. It gave the large markets even more buying power, rather than evening out the playing field. Durant doesn't care about his legacy, or what you think about him. He knows it's a business and went where he thought he would fit in the best and win a Championship. Durant gave OKC 9 years to try and win a Championship. He had every right to leave. Now, he not only instantly joins a team that is the favorite to win it all next year, but he sets himself up to earn a crap load of money on his next contract by opting out next season. Dislike him as you wish, but the guy is a genius from a business perspective.

It seems like there is an agenda to get RW out of OKC. Dwyane Wade is yapping and whining in Miami, and this huge hole and cap space is left on this sort of ready-made team, and not one media outlet even suggests this publicly. Instead, he has no choice and has to go to a loser. Russell is soooo quiet right now. THis is all a mess.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.

Super Teams have existed since forever but this is a new level of pathetic. Not even the Celtics Big 3 or the Heatles were this bad.

Durant, a superstar and MVP candidate, signed with a 73-win team. Without LeBron, the Heat wouldn't even win 60. Just a ridiculous turn of events.

Don't even get me started on this subject, homer GSW fans in the Gen Board trying to defend KD's decision and act like dude isn't a coward. Really unbelievable tbh.

$75M for Allen Crabbe?

Did I miss something? Clearly I didn't watch the Blazers enough.

Rudy Gay forcing his way out of Sacto. Why? The season hasn't even begun yet, and it's not like they brought in a SF to replace him.

Is this the first sign of the rats fleeing the ship? DMC on the move by the deadline? (I don't want him, but I love how much that could change the landscape of the NBA).

I haven't seen the box score so I have no clue how anyone is actually doing, but I'm watching the Minny-Nuggets summer league game and I can't help but be impressed by Mudiay.

I really liked him in the draft last year. I kno we had Elf and they have similar strengths / weaknesses but he looks like he has improved A LOT tonight.

Hopefully Elf has taken a step or two forward as well.

I like to believe that okc was not a stronger team before Durant left than they were in the wcf.

I also don't believe gsw is unstoppable. They are super thin.
