I'm just not sure there is much for lottery pick in G league other than " i eat first" mentality.

So far every single G league -ignite player that ended up in nba had to be deconstructed to be teached about team concept of sport.

G league creates chuckers who play for themselfs.

It took Kuminga three years to figure how to contribute to team. Green is yet to grasp it.

It's pure pain to watch Scoot play today.

Only thing you have to hope for is Jett takes his time there serious and gets better.....very few but there are outliers like fred vanvleet....undrafted g-league player to nba champion and allstar

I have already given up on the fact we will see much of Jett this season.

Most likely he’ll be the only newcomer next year with our first round picks likely traded.

too much youth to add to our rotation will hurt our playoff chances. Jett isnt that bad, but having veteran players like Gary and Joe stabilizes the offense.

"I see his growth as a person and as a basketball player," Queen said. "He’s been playing off of just having to be a scorer his whole life; whether it was with his dad in college or in high school, he’s just been a natural scorer, so for him, it’s just finding that mold of a three and D wing. A lot of people nowadays get paid off of being a three and D wing. So I just told him while he’s down here, yeah, you wanna be up top, yeah, you wanna feel like you belong, but just be the best teammate you could be, have good body language, be vocal, and be coachable."

Interesting quote. Maybe I’m reading too much into this but I feel like the Magic are trying to send the kid a message. Is he a little too arrogant and spoiled and needed a reality check to smack him in the face?

Not getting that, everything I've read or seen from the kid hasn't showed any character issues...

Why I continue to believe in cheap veteran signings like Ingles.

"Joe Ingles' has been good at guiding me and helping me out," Howard said. "Just him helping me understand how to play the right way within the team and make yourself open and available for players like Paolo and Franz (Wagner). How to play with guys has been the biggest thing, so I would say just him teaching me how to play the right way.”
Jett Howard, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero, Jonathan Isaac, Wendell Carter Jr
Anthony Black, Cole Anthony, Jalen Suggs, Joe Ingles, Chuma Okeke, Mo Wagner, Goga Bitadze LESSSGOOO!!!

They wouldn’t have drafted him if they thought that. I believe this was their plan the whole time.

He does need to improve everything outside of shooting.

i believe so too. There really is no room to add young inexperienced players. Jett a 4-year college player like the rookie of the Heat. He is just a year out of highschool. Same goes with Black, but Blacks is a higher pick so more investment is made, imo.

Black has been an elite defender, which is why he's been playing. Jett has been playing well in the G-league, but he still has a negative net rating. I believe Black's net rating is better than Jett’s G-league net rating. Jett needs time to learn how to play winning ball.

Not saying he is a bad kid or anything like that, just prob immature. That combined with his game which needs rounding out. He has a skill set which is most important and his dad is a former player so I think he will be fine.

Indeed he has. That’s why he is on the rotation despite needing to round out his game.

Yeah... i didn't see it in a negative light at all. Seems as though he's getting great advice from the "vets" on the team. You're talented.... but focus on what the team wants and needs of you first and you will succeed in the league. I love it.

I am not reading anything into Jett Howards personality one way or another.

Management clearly made a choice that it will play almost anyone before Jett Howard gets serious burn this season. Why not? He is locked in for 4 seasons to develop. This was clearly a draft and stash move. With the air a favor-ability towards Michigan / J Howard as a college / team they want to grab recruits from. Starting to make them look like a potential farm for his players to gain notoriety and thusly better recruits.

Deal with it if you don't like me saying all of this in totality. Just becomes more obvious by the second.

I think Jett is fine.

I’ve seen less overall talented shooting specialistsmake the L even if their one on one defense is sus. In a redraft it looks like Hawkins or George should’ve been the picks but what’s done is done.

He seems to be on the Gary Trent Jr track, people forget he played quite a few games in the G league

I had a hard on for Cam Whitmore and it just pains me to see him blossoming into a star.

I feel like his shooting form is conducive to getting some “landing zone” type of fouls called his way.

Interesting quote, "have good body language, be vocal, and be coachable".

It is not about defense then and it makes sense as defense is certainly not a skill you improve upon in G League. I agree, it is a message to the kid that he needs to change his attitude and take actions on coaches feedback he is receiving. He is young, but behaviour changes are a bitch.
