I'm still mad Cleveland won those two miracle games. They'd be 40-27 right now if that didn't happen.

Its pick your poison really

I want us to face CLE in the 1st round... so how do we do that?

NYK keeps winning, CLE keeps losing at a decent clip. It would be possible, but not likely, that we could end up playing CLE with the HCA.

3- NYK
4- ORL
5- CLE

With Mitchell being out and NYK playing well, I do think it's likely that they overtake CLE. Leaving the more likely scenario of:

3- NYK
4- CLE
5- ORL

I'm rooting for GSW, IND, and PHI

You sure about PHI? Would have thought we want them as deep as a hole as possible BEFORE embiid gets back...

Im fine with either as long as its CLE that we face. Win or lose that series would be the making of us next season.

I'm rooting for Philly too. It would be nice to win the division title as it would give us the tiebreaker over Cleveland... plus Embiid is still likely a ways away from coming back. And even if they rush him back, it may hurt the team defensively if he's not able to move well.

ESPN BPI is interesting.

Says we're basically an average team with a BPI of 0.2. So against an average team on a neutral court it's a tossup.

Our offense is -2.4 points worse than an average offense, our defense is 2.6 points better than an average defense.

Offense -2.4
Defense 2.6
Net 0.2

Looking at offensive and defensive rating

Offense -2.1
Defense 3.9
Net 1.8

ESPN BPI penalizes us for various factors, does anyone have an idea what those are? I know it considers prior season performance. I'm sure our age factors in.

Another interesting thing to note is that we are 2 games above our Pythagorean win total.

There is some evidence we are overachieving due to intangibles, which tend to mean coaching, chemistry, culture, synergy, etc.

I think Mosley is going to win coach of the year.

Winning more than point differential would predict, winning more than Vegas and other predictive models would predict, winning against the spread.

I kinda want us to overachieve this year. See where these kids take it next season. Also I feel like continuing saying the word overachieve is a mix bag when at least statistically we have beat the teams we should have beaten and have a great home record thus far. These are things that at least contextually are starts towards being a good team.

Also some of those games against teams with a stronger lineup thru the Dec / Jan phase of the season we literally limped our way through that. Honestly felt like Moe had just a good a chance of being fired then he did extended. All in the past now.

There is too much competition for coach of the year. OKC and MIN coach will likely end up ahead as they also overachieved, especially MIN.

That's still the same three teams. If OKC or MIN finish 1st (or even 2nd behind Denver) in the West, then that's an easy shoe-in for their coach to win the award.

Sure, those should be the 3 overachievers. One has SGA the other has a bloated cap sheet. Coaching is more readily identified as a key driver for Orlando vs either team imo.

Adjusted Net Rating is saying the same thing. 15th best team with the 9th best record.

I wouldn't be wildly optimistic about us getting out of any series vs anybody (tho it is possible). I just think it should be the FOs and team's final Masters Degree before properly heading out into the world next season. Learn as much as possible, but then actually apply it next year.

A defense-first team is always tough in the playoffs. I have great hope the Magic will win games in round-1. Will they win a series?
I am so excited we will test that question!

Boston posted a similar video to this a few weeks ago, but still a very cool edit.
