It’s just annoying that guys that probably shouldn’t and won’t be on the team next season are playing when guys that will absolutely be here 100% get zero minutes against the saddest team in the league.

It’s not like we are talking about playing against the Nuggets, Bucks, Celtics, or OKC for context. I could understand that argument at least.

I wouldn't be so sure of this :o

If true, that is a pretty bad move by management.

Is it because we started Fultz and Carter for the majority of the season?

I think it's a little unfair to ding those guys for games they missed because of injuries rather than games the team might have lost due to ineffectiveness, right?

The Black/Goga lineup went 12-8 together in 20 games.

But the current Fultz/Carter starting lineup is 7-3 in 10 games together.

It stands to reason that the Fultz/Carter lineup might have done *better* than 12-8 had they been healthy.
I believe Franz, Suggs, Ingles, and Isaac were out in some of the Black/Goga games.

What would Wendell/Fultz look like minus 2-3 of those players? Probably, not any better.

The starting unit has gone down double digits for several games in a row in the first quarter. In Miami, my guess is they'll go down double digits in the first quarter.

You think Fultz and Gary are here next season for some reason?

Knightro Boggart would took form of Fultz next contract signed by the Magic.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Fultz more so than Gary, but think about it...

If the Magic stay relatively healthy the rest of the season and end up going like 45-37, do you really think they're going to let their starting point guard walk away for nothing?

I've only been hammering this point home for 6 straight months

Yeah, we were on the same page about this before the season started.

If he continues to look ineffective and a huge liability, then I can't see this to be the case anymore.

The team looked better without him and he hasn't adjusted to playing up in his contract season that everyone assured me he would.

The best lineup was on the floor yesterday to close out the game. Fultz wasnt a part of it.

I could end up wrong, but don't think it matters how Fultz looks individually.

They're winning with him starting and the Fultz/Suggs/Franz/Paolo/Carter lineup is working (+11.0 NET in 180 minutes together) really well at the moment.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if Weltman opted for an Ingles/Mortiz 1+1 contract for Fultz to just kick the can right on down the road again another 6+ months.

In terms of whether or not that will happen...

Yeah that would be a very Orlando Magic outcome with how they handle things here.

Should that happen at all? No.

I just feel like the odds of next year's opening night lineup being the same as yesterday's starting lineup...

Fultz, Suggs, Franz, Paolo, Wendell

...are a LOT higher than a lot of y'all seem to think.

Fultz has no future even if he holds on another season after this. I don’t want to bring in the wrong replacement so Fultz hanging around till we find it seems ok but meh.

Return to Orlando Magic
