His contract situation is scaring me a bit... not a lot but a bit... This level of play is not worth the full max... but we all know that's not how NBA contracts are given out. If he doesn't improve as a 3 pt shooter, I don't think he works with Paolo. 30% is not going to cut it...at all.

Cmon Franz is def worth the max on his rookie extension contract or whateever its called. As to his 3pt%, if Suggs did it, he can as well.

I want the Magic FO to demand on Franz contract that he rest and train on himself lol

Yep, the current version of Franz with max contract means we are 1st round playoff exit team.
He seems to be an intelligent and competitive person, and had two pretty steady seasons so of course we should not give up on him, but his shooting is looking worse by day, weird, did Fultz bit him or something?

he will get and he deserves it... but that doesn't mean that it can't limit our potential if he doesn't improve in some key areas

Achiuwa had 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. Wendell's season highs are 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. The last time Wendell got 14 rebounds was 2 years ago. I doubt he's ever had 5 blocks.

why should we root for him getting it? :D It doesnt help the team, if somhow they convince him to sign for less i'll be happy - Bane didnt sign the max contract this year and he has been more valuable for Memphis.

Franz is 22 and leading a team projected for 47 wins in win shares. He's worth every penny.

Yeah he's just second guessing himself. Gotta fight through it and be more decisive on offense. He looks scared to shoot from the outside.

100% of people take this btw.. as long as we fix our weaknesses in the offseason

you think they'll be able to do what needs to be done? i think they will but i can't help but feel the front office getting sentimental and resigning someone that SHOULD NOT be resigned

I pray they don't fall for the "family" BS and just stick to running the team like a professional sports organization.

this is what i'm worried about....i like Markelle i do....however is there a team that will give him a contract? we may be the only team keeping him from being out of the league....maybe i'm overblowing it

Down 2, Paolo gets doubled and kicks it out to Franz at the 3pt line with 2 on the clock.... how confident are you that he hits that shot?

He may be worth every penny but the fit is not good if he can't hit that shot in the modern NBA. This is the same discussion we were having about Suggs the last two years.

Franz HAS TO improve from deep. Considerably. And now we have to pay him and hope that he does. That 3pt shot is so damn important today. There is no way around it.

100% confident. He's a 40% sniper masquerading as a 30% 3-point shooter right now.

Franz is great…possible future All-Star…not getting a max extension. He’s not a Paolo, he’s more of a Bane, Mikal Bridges level guy. This is not new or related to his shooting slump.

Everybody good does not get a max extension.
