It's more likely he does not survive than he does survive. NBA coaches get fired all the time. There's only like 5 NBA coaches who have been in their current roles for more than 5 seasons, ya know?

Things change pretty rapidly when there are actual expectations.

The expectation next season, pretty much regardless of what they do this offseason, is gonna be more wins than they end up with this year and to go further in the playoffs than they go this year.

If they don't reach that, then there's going to all of a sudden be heat on Mosley's seat for the very first time.

Whatever was done, we have committed to the idea of "it" whatever "it" is for the next 4 seasons. The timer has already started, it can end sooner.

To me, Mosley doesn't get this extension if the foundational pieces aren't in place. So people hoping for something splashy I think might be let down. Unless someone big says "trade me to Orlando". A phrase I have never heard.
