We need Isaac on Zion. If Im Mosley I sub him in early. Pelicans are a tough team. it should be a fun game.

I have a hard time believing he's coming back given how doesn't space the floor and you have Carter/Issac/Wagner in front of him.

JI and WCJ miss a lot of time. I see the Magic trying to keep Goga.

Unless the Magic can keep Goga on a cheap contract, I don’t see the Magic keeping him. There are teams bound to pay him more and I doubt the Magic will overpay Goga so he can play third string.

His playstyle is so weird. He just shoots at you like a torpedo from just outside of the paint. I think people sag off of him because he won't take threes, but it might be better to play him close because he can't get that running start advantage and will have to use his quickness.

I dunno... with how heavy anf compact Zion is, im afraid he will break JIs legs. Better let WCJ or Goga guard him.

Great win but I want to see us win a game vs a good team. Pelicans will be a good test.

Pelicans are going to be a helluva test. They've been scorching hot. Zion lost some weight and is playing at an All-NBA level

Honestly idk if id want Isaac guarding him, the risk of injury coupled with the strength gap might be too much. We might see WCJ on him

Pelicans game will be big test because Pelicans ( unlike last 4 games we played) actually play for something.

I don't like idea of Isaac guarding him too much, he is guy who plays on sheer physicality, and is like 60 pounds heavier than Isaac, with lover center of gravity ( but with unreal hoops).

Paolo might actually play him decently

It will be very interesting watch. You also have to keep close eye on Trey Murphy who averages 21 ppg off bench past month

I would very much like to break the trend of us losing to any good team that comes around.... Paper tiger reputation, beat up on the weak but get smoked when the strong comes around

I feel like we just have a lot of chicken littles lol.. is that even our reputation? We just have had an easy schedule lately.

W vs MIA
L vs CLE (bad blowout)
W vs PHX
L vs DAL (I think we shoulda won this.. especially if Isaac is allowed to play more than 8 minutes)
W @ MIN
L @ MIA (disappointing)
W vs CHI (solid team now)
L vs OKC (just too efficient on offense)
W @ CLE (no Mitchell but hard game)
L vs NYK (3 in 4 nights without Suggs)
L vs IND (no Suggs, but would've won this one)

Seems pretty much on par with where we are talent wise... 5-6 where it could've been flipped with the Dallas game.. and if people want to use caveats with other players being out for other teams, then having our best guard and POA defender out is big for us too...

Naw, I think they have a bright future; they are just tanking. Ball, Bridges, Williams, and Miller is a a great core.

Ball will be good. Miller too. But Grant Williams isn’t some sort of foundational player. Very average and a surly ****.

Bridges is a nice piece.

I was talking about their center Marc Williams not Grant Williams. I feel like they are just few years away, they just need time to cook.

They have solid foundation to build something

PG: Ball / Micić - set
SG: NIck Smith ? /Seth Curry
SF: Miller / Martin
PF: Bridges / Williams / Pokuševski
C: Williams / Richards

around $30M in cap space
top 5-ish lottery pick in 2024
2025, 2026 own picks
2027 own pick + Dallas top 2 protected pick + Heat lottery protected pick

Let's say they add Williams in draft, their PG-SG-SF could be Ball- Williams- Miller. That can be OKC-lite build.

Even without OG knicks have been playing good. Granted Thibs is killing their legs with mins but i think they have a higher chance being 3rd than us being 4th. Especially with DON out for the Cavs.

Aren't they like 15-2 with og in the lineup and 8-10 without him? Or something crazy like that. If we catch enough breaks and handle our own business there's a scenerio where we could even end up at number 3

I actually dont know. Josh Hart seems to be holding down the SF fort pretty decently though.

Box score thoughts.

To state the most obvious thing ever, the Magic won the FG% battle and won the game.

Orlando dominated offensive rebounding, total rebounding, and led in steals. That coupled that, even though the Magic missed less of their shots, they ended up with more attempts on basket. (not a winning strategy Mr. Clifford).

The Magic had an amazing 32 assists, which is more incredible when one notes that the high assist man was at 6. Six Magicians had 3 or more assists, and 12 Magicians logged at least one assist this game. WOW.

Garry "Casper the Ghost" Harris had another invisible box score. I'm all for Suggs starting at PG, but man, Orlando needs a SG that actually shoots.

p.s. the Magic shot 92% from the charity stripe this game. Nice.

Small thing, but I like how Paolo has Suggs' back...he was almost ready to go help him mid-play but waited for the whistle to blow

I'm gearing up for playoffs and i'm trying to come with rotation.
Those are men i would play :

Garry Harris- Suggs- Wagner- Banchero -Carter
Cole- Mortiz- Isaac- maybe Ingles

i'm not sure i would include anybody else. Maybe Goga if matchaup is Embiid.

And in any rotation where Mortiz , Ingles and Cole play together they have to be supported by either Suggs or Isaac or both. You can't roll lineup with 3 bad individual defenders in playoffs without paying high price.
