No way in hell am I giving Klay Thompson more than a 1 year contract. It could be 1 + team option, like Joe Ingles contract. But thats it. He looked cooked and so did the Warriors

Still shooting 39% on 9 threes a game. I wouldn't overpay though. Like a year + year sort of thing maybe.

How much is reasonable to pay for Curry ? He is exactly who we need, but old.
I would like to get him but overpay and you are Suns 2.0 but worse.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

He is pretty good and is a local kid (Eustis). But he is not a FA this summer.

Klay will be an early favorite to be top in sweater vest points. That kind of spacing will feel like a miracle. The boost in culture and experience will be worth his weight in gold as well.

I think i'm hooping onto "5 years too late" camp for Klay.
He looks washed up.

AB replaces Fultz
Klay replaces Harris
Then in a few seasons Jett replaces Klay
Jett will be lucky to ever be as good as current Klay, but who better to learn from?

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread (non-Magic games discussion)
How much better is 2024 Klay than GTJ or min. salary Beasley or Luke Kennard or Duncan Robinson or Buddy Hield?
Klay is an awesome guy and a fierce competitor and still a productive player...but he's getting big minutes and shot opportunities based on history, to get those numbers. I just don't see the investment making sense for this team. I also don't see it making sense for him - GSW offered him $25 per...that's more than any of the guys listed above (some by a LOT) to be spot up shooters with deadly accuracy. His defense (along with super-elite shooting) is what made him a HOFer and that's badly deteriorated.
As others have indicated (in the appropriate thread - sorry )...we, ideally, need more than just spot up shooting to move our offense to the next level. Monk, Simons, Murray...would all be much better additions at a much more palatable salary. WE could afford 2 years of overpaying Klay just for the shooting and the "feels", but I think that's a mistake. We should be building our backcourt of the present and future contention, not just funding his grouchy retirement parade...He DOES NOT want to leave GSW and, if he feels disrespected enough by them for not getting a "lifetime achievement" contract, then he might allow some suckers to pay him a "see GSW, I told you someone would" overpay that, after the initial elation, we will regret.

Not that there's gonna be much of that in Cavs-Magic
Really, I thought New Orleans look like our games
It did look like that with LA daring them to shoot. NO doesn't seem to have the fight our guys do though. Zion went off though then got hurt. Alvarado kept them afloat.

Exactly! No wonder Zion got injured, aside from carrying his extra pounds, he was carrying those 2 as well.

I was just thinking we'd score like 65 in a game like this. Its going to rough generating offense in the playoffs. Hope our defense doesn't falter
