I qctually want NYK to be 3rd so that means 4th or 5th would be between us and CLE. 2 young inexperienced teams in the POs

Game sucked a lot of blame to go around. I will never understand the bandwagon mentality. I understand why we get invaded by Knicks fans and heat fans but damn the warriors fans were nuts.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

The two young stars on this team will need to develop their leadership and focus at some point to lead this team when things start tough. To figure out how to not to let games get out of hand so drastically early on and keep things manageable. Getting down at home 16-18 so early on just can’t be happening and it did because 1) they simply were not ready at the start 2) they couldn’t grind themselves into the game 3) they allow themselves to get frustrated. Reality is that won’t happen this year, it’s a process, they are 21 and 22 receiving the attention of defenses and have zero playoff experience nor teammates that could help with that. Maybe if we had a veteran scoring guard that would hasten that curve but we don’t yet. They are going to have to take the large lumps and welts like they did tonight and against Sac. Things are looking up and we are ahead of the early Dwight years. I do think they will figure out eventually but not this year.

Yes, it's a very important thing.

Yes, it has has nose dived this season.

But some of y'all are acting like he's actively bad now and he's literally better at every single thing that isn't 3PT shooting.

The Magic are 39-25 when he plays and 3-5 when he doesn't and he has a +3.4 NET rating.

Anyone who thinks we're better without Franz is ridiculous.

He's a great defender, and attacks the rim with aggression.

Problem is offensively he's becoming pretty 1 dimensional with how he scores. He doesnt have a midrange nor 3 pt game. So when we play teams who pack the paint it really gives Franz a hard time.

Along with Franz struggling to play thru physical defense at times and overly looking for the foul.

We need more from our 2nd option offensively.

That's spinning the numbers, he is marginally better at most of these things and significanty worse at the 3pt shooting. That doesnt mean he has become a bad player, but he is stalling this season.

Yes but WePark also needs to give Paolo and Franz more spacing by acquiring 3pt shooters and guard scoring.

Lol I think people are shifting the goalposts. Franz can absolutely be criticized for his shooting, but nobody is arguing how vital he is as an inside scorer and defender.

He also has to start BEING a source of spacing. We can't have #1 and #2 operating the same spaces. I mean, we can.. it'll just be an iffy ass offense.

Rookie Franz with even worse spacing against elite defense:

He is absolutely part of the spacing issues today. Hell, he's the worst 3 pt shooting starter in the Suggs/Harris/Franz/Paolo/WCJ lineup by a MILE.

Except he has a track record of being a mid 30s 3pt shooter first two years in the league so despite him being absolutely awful at it this year I think he will get back to it. He is a hard worker and a smart guy, he will get back to that.

Is there anyone that can track down how many off-the-dribble 3's we take and make vs the rest of the league? I have a feeling that we're so bad that we would be considered a statistical outlier.

ehhh we've had a random poster or 2 float the idea of trading Franz this season and others questioning if he works with our team

I'm hopeful he can improve on his shooting woes. But I honestly expect more of the same next year considering he'll be playing in the Olympics this summer

I came here to write this, so I'll give it a +1000 instead.

Franzs troubles are exacerbated because it hurts our already **** spacing
I still believe in Magic! Welcome to the Franz & Paolo era

You might as well just say it

Big feelings tonight.

You should be looking more at players that know better and Weltman actually filling out a roster. Fultz shouldn’t be on the floor, there is literally no point. Carter doesn’t fit. This was obvious more than halfway through Paolo’s rookie season.

I agree with you on most things but I can’t agree on this Fultz and Goga lineup. I have never been a Fultz fan. I thought Fultz should have been traded at the deadline but I guess the organization preferred his expiring contract. But with Harris gone he is unfortunately the best option to start. Even a better option than Black.

And I know you may think Carter may not fit but he is basically playing to spread the floor.

I really do expect many moves to be made in the offseason with all the cap space they have.

I am starting to realize that the reason that so many teams double Paolo is not only because he is good but because other teams don’t respect his teammates in terms of shooting.

These last 2 games were an absolute joke. Nobody but Cole and JI has played good. This is why I fear we are getting swept in playoffs.

Yeah. I thought Ingles played way too long in the 4th and we would have had a better chance if Suggs would have come in sooner.
