I think Claxton takes away from Banchero. He loves to pound the rock and not go anywhere also. Huerter I'm a fan of. Monk.. meh.

I'll always go back to Monte Morris.

Morris
Suggs
Wagner
Banchero
WCJ

Black
Huerter
O'neal
Isaac
Wagner

You've got a lot of different line ups with this roster. Both starting guards shoot 40% from 3. Huerter and Royce O'neal are snipers also. You can start Black if you want.

Damn if that’s our offseason that’s depressing

Let me amend that then.

Lebron
George
Durant
Giannis
Jokic

Is that better?

Pretty big gap between Monte Morris and All-NBA players but okay

Claxton (30)/Moe (14)/Magic 1st
Banchero (32)/Isaac (24)/Okeke or Magic 2nd
Franz (32)/Howard/Houstan
Suggs (30)/SG from trade (24)/T. Queen or Magic 2nd
Monk (30)/AB (24)/M. McClung

So 4/100 for Monk and 3/60 for Claxton this summer?

And Carter for somebody like Huerter maybe?
Something like that. Maybe a little less for Monk ($90-$100M for 4 years). You could always do IHart instead of Claxton but I think Claxton offers more versatility in case Isaac gets hurt again. Howard will have to fight for his minutes and depending on who we would get in the Carter + Cole trade, Monk and the trade person could be interchangeable with Monk coming off the bench. The Magic 1st would be Filipowski if he's there at #18. That would be best case summer for me.

For example, if we basically run it back, I would expect a 6-8 seed at best as the rest of the east gets healthy and make their moves.

If they "run it back", with everything as is. I probably will take a break from this team.

Chris Paul is definitely exciting. But he is coming off the bench for us if we somehow sign him.

If Cole hasn’t played himself off the team this season then I don’t know what will. Since he can’t run point or defend all that well he really only has 1 job as a scorer and he got worse at that this season.

Wendell has shown he’s too mentally weak for the pressure of a competitive team.

I hope we got all the evaluation out of them that we needed.

Run it back? If our FO believes in Organic internal development so much, someone's job will be on the line. We are not even going to finish Top 6 in the East next year if that is the case. Plus what is the probability of injury to our young core? That could be disaster. We could possibly have 40M in cap space this summer. Malik Monk is only 25 years old. Nic Claxton is young also. So is DAngelo Russell. They fit our timeline a lot actually. Bring someone in and make the next leap. Isn't that the plan? Run it back? OMG

Address the teams weaknesses.. the team has no ball handler that is effective in the PnR and they turn the ball over way too much. Morris addresses both of those. I then added two of the really good shooters but go ahead and disregard.

Is there a wikipedia page for people who offer no solution to problems but would rather cry about other people's ideas?

Collin Sexton would take away from the progression the team is making. He doesn't know how to play winning basketball.

Murray would be my #1 target if he wasn't crazy... As much as I love the talent and grit he brings, I can't ignore the immaturity.

Big: IHart
Wing: Fontecchio
Guard: ???????????????????

Which is the guard that most prefer around here? Maybe we should do a poll.

Jett Howard going from 67 minutes played for his entire rookie season to a 20-25 MPG rotation spot seems completely implausible to me.

And if it does happen, I expect him to be horrible and a total drain on the rotation.

Agree...but I also find it more likely than Black taking over as starting PG.

I think we need to trade for Trae Young.

Now that the Spurs reportedly arent interested, maybe we can get him for a good price? Theres not that many suitors

I mean..

He was on a pretty bad tanking Cleveland team and a pretty bad tanking Utah team.

I just find it funny people are actively wanting to pursue Malik Monk for a huge contract in free agency when they could easily get Sexton for less years and less money. Im still good with Tyus Jones until AB steps up.

Patrick Williams could possibly be signed in the $15m per year range. He's got more upside than Joe Ingles.

No thanks. I'm not sure he likes basketball and he's also missed a ton of games over his 1st 4 seasons.

Just trust me on Sexton. He’s garbage. He’ll spend his whole career on bad teams and he’s part of the reason why.

Fun fact is that he's 1 day older than Franz.

It's harsh to say Utah teams last and this year are "pretty bad tanking team".
They won 37 games last year, on a West.

This year they won 31 games. For reference point, Magic record vs teams from West this year is 15-15.
Pacers, Knicks & Bucks record vs Western teams is also 15-15.

So let's not get carried away, it's much harder to have good record on a West than it's on a East. There is no 20 games vs Hornets, Pistons, Wizards, Raptors & Nets to padd safe 16 wins.

Once again this year in playin you had 2 below .500 teams on East making playin, where on a West, Warriors were 10th with 46 wins.

Cavs hold home court adventage with 48. 48 on a west is good enough for playin.

As for Sexton, i don't think he is starting level material, but he is better than vast majority of guards we have. You have pattern with him where you know for sure he will be near 40% three point shooter , be efficient offensive player and score.
Can you use it? Sure. He is better than Cole.

Would i target him as specific target ? No. But if opportunity is there and he is cheap, why not?
