If they don't expect him to play next year, might as well trade him on draft night for future pick(s).

100% on this. For example, if the Magic is to trade for Anfernee Simons, then Howard must be a piece of that package.

Would Howard, Houstan and two FRPs be enough? I would think so.

I think it very strongly depends on what other moves the Magic make this offseason.

Obviously he'll play more next year than he did this season, but I don't think he's a guaranteed to be in the rotation either.

It's concerning to see the 11th pick in the draft spend almost his entire rookie year in the G league. I hope his father getting canned is not a distraction for him.

You really think we can get that much for him?

Doesn't have to be some "sexy" pick, more like top 18 protected pick from 2026 or something like that.

Lets assume we sign one point guard DLO or Jones, dont resign Fultz and resign Harris (becouse we need veterans). Lets assume we wont play Ingles much even if we resign him.

DLO/Suggs/Wagner
then we can start Anthony or Black at 1 and then Harris/Howard can share minutes at 2/3.
So we would have to resign Harris and sign/trade for another wing to dont have minutes for Jett. There is even possibility he starts next to Suggs or whoever.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Looking at the last 15 games and total minutes:

Paolo, 524
Franz, 471
Suggs, 366
WCJ, 360
Cole, 333
Harris, 274
Ingles, 249
Moe, 226
JI, 219
Fultz, 205

This is pretty much the 10 man rotation heading into the playoffs.

- Harris and Fultz are expiring contracts.
- Ingles is trending down.
- JI is a lock pending health
- WCJ and Cole have been subject to trade rumors, otherwise are stable roleplayers
- Moe is on a short-term deal

There will be rotation spots to fill and I'll be super curious to see how we approach it. It definitely feels like Fultz is gone and AB is the replacement. Harris vs Free Agent vs Jett will be interesting.

I don't think promoting AB and Jett costs us anything at all TBH, Fultz and Harris don't add much value.

I expect him to be on the team, other than that no. Has there any indication he’s been getting better? I don’t follow G league as often

I’d expect Jett to get in the rotation early next year, assuming he’s earned that spot. The Magic are fast tracking to contender status, so I expect a high profile guard to be added to the team, which complicates things for Jett. If he comes in and contributes on D and hits open shots there’s no reason to think he won’t be part of the rotation. Ingles will be a year older, Caleb really is Jett’s main competition as the 3 point guy on this team and Okeke I’m assuming will be gone.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

I assume we will get a PG while Suggs, Houstan, Howard, Harris, Black wil be competing for the starting 2 and backup 2/3.

I think he will, but I still question the "3-D Chess" of parking him in the G-League. I don't see the developmental value of that being great. McLung is dominant there, but can't get a sniff from a team with a need for PG play, backcourt scoring, and fan appeal. Scoot looks very much like a rookie, despite extensive time there. If you've watched any G-league play, it's more AAU than U of K. If learning how to play the right way was the intent, we should have sent him to Germany.
