McClung as the Magic's 3rd string PG in 2024/45 makes a lot of sense to me.

I’d rather Mac be taking Fultz’s minutes at the moment. Will be interesting to see if he gets a promotion from us to become our 3rd string guard or if he goes to another team.

Him and Cole playing together to get terrible size switches is probably a reason why that wouldnt happen

Really he should have been called up earlier in the year and sent Fultz down to rehab a bit but now we're too deep into the season with the playoffs around the corner. His outside shooting would have been nice.

Very true.

I’m still curious to see how much the team leans into internal promotion in the offseason vs external acquisitions. The Celtics did a good job of that and turning those players into bigger upgrades down the line:

Rozier - traded for Kemba (later traded for Horford)
Moses Brown - traded for Josh Richardson
Langford + Richardson - traded for White
Nesmith - traded for Brogdon
Smart + G.Williams - traded for Porzingis
R. Williams + Brogdon - traded for JRue

Hopefully we can do something similar with our stable of young bucks.

He cant be an worse the Fultz right now, if hes even 90% of coles production on the cheap Id move CA in a package for an upgrade at pg

I think folks need to appreciate that McClung cannot play defense at an NBA level. Actually being on the Orlando Magic would be good for him to learn this skill.

If I was management, I would sign McClung over keeping the ~21 pick in the draft. That is: McClung will be more useful for the 2024/25 roster than any rookie would be.
