I think Yao is better healthy. But I will still take Dwight Howard over Yao, if I'm a GM of a team.

A healthy Yao gets the nod as best center in the league, but Dwight's 2nd right now and has got a long future ahead of him (hopefully).

putting aside my magic fan status, if im pickin a team and i have a healthy Yao and a healthy (normal) Dwight theres no way in hell i pass up dwight. No way... hes more aggressive, quicker, more athletic, and regardless of if Yao is healthy at the time he wont be later in the season where as dwight has not missed one game of his career and he has started all but one. So if I am picking a team I take Dwight first. The only upside Yao has on Dwight is better free throw shooting and a mid range J, but he can be blocked by Nate Robinson... If Dwight was gone and it was down to Yao and the rest of the NBA centers I take Yao, hes an excellent player and a great guy.. but I'd rather have Dwight

I like Yao a lot as a person, athlete, etc. Unfortunately, i think that his body is breaking down now. The question isn't what if this and if that... the question is who is better NOW? Clearly Orlando's Dwight howard is a much better center than one that cannot play a full season because of injury.

nobody here cares what a rocket homer thinks about dwight howard. You are a hater, and are just pissed that the rockets haven't been as succesful as anticipated with your current center. Furthermore, it makes anyone here non-bias because some people say no? you're an idiot! the mere fact that you are on a magic forum indicates bias. The only reason that anyone here says no is because they are throwing in a bunch of what if scenarios. The Real case is YES dwight is the best center in the league overall factoring duarability, dominance, consistency... etc.

if Yao was healthy last year then it would have been a hard choice, but he wasn't so easily Howard as the best center last season... We'll see what happen this coming season, but i think Howard should improve enough to stay at the best center
