Hedo, Wilks join Battie & AJ as the walking wounded

Hedo suffered a groin strain and walked off on his own. BS said it didnt look too serious. Wilks has a knee injury and had to be helped off the court. That sounds serious. I guess we will have to stay tuned to see the severity of the injuries.

The Magic, already playing without forward Tony Battie and point guard Anthony Johnson, lost starting small forward Hedo Turkoglu and reserve point guard Mike Wilks in a 94-84 victory against the Charlotte Bobcats on Thursday.

Turkoglu left in the first quarter with a sore right groin and did not return. He is listed day-to-day.

Wilks appeared to have some sort of right leg injury, being helped off the floor in the fourth quarter. His status was not immediately known.

The Magic were already playing without Johnson (eye abrasion) and Battie (fractured finger).

Coach Stan Van Gundy almost immediately pulled starters Rashard Lewis and Mickael Pietrus to avoid furth attrition.

Rookie Courtney Lee took over at point guard late in the game.

He's gonna be waived.

My reading of the CBA is that his contract will become guaranteed though.

John Denton's article about Wilks seems to say that he is history with the Magic.

The Magic must take three PGs into the seen. Wilks is gone. But, he's also gonna get his contract.
