We definitely need a third PG

Post#1 » by akhenaten » Sat Dec 13, 2008 12:20 am

I don't think we can go all year with just AJ backing up Jameer. He looks like he's already wearing down -- zero points and 4 assists in last 2 games. I think if Otis makes any moves, this is a move he has to make -- especially if Jameer breaks down again.

A.J. went into the locker room a little banged up.

I could not agree with you more here on needing that third point guard.

So why on earth did the Magic resign Jeremy Richardson an SG when the Magic need another pg.

AJ needs to sit at the end of the bench

and we need to give C-lee the rub at backup PG

which will open up more minutes to JJ coming off the bench at SG

pretty much, C-Lee needs more minutes and AJ needs to not play... at all

Cougar,

Maybe they are waiting to find or trade for the right point guard.

Also, on Courtney Lee, when he is out there, his body looks more like a big point guard. I can see him getting more minutes at the point as the season goes on.

I'd still love to have the insurance with a third pg though.

Courtney Lee has proven to be lighting quick and seems also to have a high baskeball IQ.

But I don't know if he can be a primary ballhandler...maybe just too much pressure on him. We should however try a Lee-Redick backcourt if we are ever blowing out a team.

Courtney does have a high basketball IQ. However, he was never known to have good ball-handling skills coming out of college. I also have my doubts asking a rookie SG to take responsibility at one of the toughest positions in basketball. While Orlando looks for another backup for Nelson, I think the team should cut just a few of Hedo's starting minutes and expand his role at the backup PG spot.

1. aj should be hypnotized into believing that he is playing against the pacers, each and every game.

If the Magic are going for a backup PG they should look at Damon Stoudamire. He did pretty good for the Spurs last year coming off the bench. Unless they want to trade for some one like Travis Diener or maybe Chucky Atkins. Just want to see a change in the backcourt is all.

We don't need 2 tiny PGs on the team.

I'd also like to see Lee on playing the PG more often which would free up some pt for JJ.
When Lee is out there, you can always have Hedo out there help running the point.
Lee is so damm quick out there and has so much energy.
The less we see of AJ, the better.
I think SVG plays AJ only because he has no other PG.
AL does nothing for this team.

Smush Parker is averaging 20 points and 8 assists in the D-League right now. I think he would be a nice fit on this team in a backup role. He certainly will do more than Jeremy Richardson is.
