Bill Walton is Clueless

Post#1 » by Tmac970 » Sun Dec 14, 2008 4:16 pm

I was watching an ESPN video of Tim Legler, Bill Walton, and another analyst whose name I forget. They were comparing Marc Stein's power rankings to that of Sportsnations rankings. According to both rankings, the Magic are #5, with the Blazers at #4, Cavs at #3, Lakers at #2, and Celtics at #1. Walton was pissed and said that Orlando has done nothing and San Antonio should be #5 instead of them. He even said that we had never won a playoff series! This proves that he knows nothing about us. Anyhow, Legler and the other analyst took up for us and said that the post season has nothing to do with the here and now and that they support the rankings. Walton said that we have had an easy schedule and the others hadnt. Legler and the other analyst said that it wasn't like we made up our own schedule. We won the games that were on our schedule, therefore that is why we are at #5. Walton then proceeded to get smart and said "It looks like Orlando made their own schedule". Then he laughed.

Bill walton pisses me off. You should not be allowed to talk about sports on national coverage without having some clue on the topic. To say we have never won a playoff series is (Please Use More Appropriate Word). I know he must be thinking against Detroit only but if he meant ever he is the dumbest person on ESPN. I would rather hear Stephen A. Smith talk about sports then Bill Walton.

Sorry about the rant but I can not stand to hear Bill Walton speak much less know he is breathing.

I do not see how everyone is penalizing us for having a fairly easy schedule. The schedule is what it is. What matters is we are beating teams that we should beat. As of now, we are proving ourselves against winning teams. We are a team that proves that the game aint over until the final buzzer. We play hard and never quit. We are finding ways to win and when we are missing a body, we come together as a unit and play good ball. I am not gonna jump the gun and say that we are better than the Cavs, Lakers, or Celtics, but I will say that I believe that we are better than Portland. Take away Roy and they do not know what to do. We have proven that we can win without Pietrus, Jameer, Dwight, and Hedo. We are deeper than people believe. Although I do believe that our bench needs some fine-tuning, they really showed up last night. I am fine with being under the radar, but Walton could at least get his facts straight before openinig his mouth.

I don't know why anyone listens to anything Bill Walton says. He's a buffoon & always has been. This is the same guy who said Shaq should have stayed in college another year and he can't do anything but dunk.

i am so tired of people saying that cleveland is such a great team. Their schedule has been just as easy as our own. Any team that is at all respectable in the league has beaten the cavs.

i just ignore it. it's bill walton that man has no knowledge about basketball anymore. he just rambles about nothing. i like how he compared spurs and the magic and flat out says "would you rather have jameer nelson or tony parker? or keith bogans or manu ginobili"?

well bill, would you rather have hedo turkoglu or michael finley? rashard lewis or matt bonner?

I just saw the video on Walton.
Just wow....talking out of his @ss...
Hasn't beaten anyone over .500 ??
Hasn't won a playoff series ??
Does he realize we're talking about power ranking here and not playoff potential.
What an idiot !!

it's bad enough that bill walton has no idea what he's talking about most of the time, but the fact that there's never anyone on to call him on his nonsense makes it even worse.

it kind of makes you wonder what steve "snapper" jones is up to these days.

Walton just says whatever he's thinking at the moment..........lots of times he's babbling.

The problem is though, that sometimes he's insightful.

You gotta take him with a grain of salt........he's really kind of harmless.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability
