Straight from Matt Barnes' mouth: Dallas, Orlando, Cleveland

Post#1 » by purplehaze89 » Fri Jul 17, 2009 5:33 pm

Barnes, a 29-year-old swingman, is long and lanky at 6-foot-7 and 220 pounds. His next team would be his seventh NBA stop. He is coming off a career year in which he averaged 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists for Phoenix, where he started 40 games. Barnes said Dallas, Orlando and Cleveland have expressed interest.

"It's a tough time to sign a contract," he said. "But I am sure something will happen."

ITs only a matter of time.. i honestly dont see him going to Cleveland.. especially with them just signing Parker.. actually all 3 wont be able to give him the playing time he had last year... so i dont know what the hell hes going to do..

"Have expressed interest", nothing more than stating what we already knew?

Like DHoward said, Cavs are out with their signing of Anthony Parker. It's either us or Dallas. Just depends on who has the deep pockets.

If so, then Dallas needs to take classes on learning how pull the trigger.

I wouldn't say Cleveland is out. It be weird if he does sign with Cavs, but I won't rule them out.

DM, LBJ will play the majority of minutes like a madman. If Barnes goes there, he'll basically be replacing Wally World as he'll be lucky to play some nights.

I've read that Cleveland is trying to use Lebron at PF at times. And Barnes will be good for Cavs if that is their plan.

And talk about minutes, when I doubt he'll have many here unless of an injury and foul trouble. Which is very possible.

Where he would fit? Are you assuming Lewis starts at the 3 then? If Lewis stays at the 4 Barnes or Daniels will see playing time behind Pietrus at the 3. If Lewis moves to the 3 neither Barnes nor Daniels would see much time, if any. Daniels is not going to be signed as a back up PG, simply because he is not one and cannot not run an offense.

Wait, Dallas and Orlando? Wow, if we do get him over Dallas... they'll defintely hold a grudge against us for an eternity.

yeah, i was assuming lewis is moving to the 3, and even if he stayed at 4, mp wouldnt start. he shoots way too much to be a starter on this team and he proved in the playoffs how effective he is off the bench with basically starters minutes
