Vareflop is gonna guard Bass or Rashard? Delonte or Mo is gonna guard Vince? The only matchup problem they give us, and every other team in the NBA, is LeBron. But we saw what happened when he went 1 on 5. It was pretty good for us. All we gotta do is guard everyone else tight and let LeBron try to do it all himself.
I disagree completely. Cleveland did a few things well this off-season. Here is the way I see it...
1. Shaq is not going to help against the pick and roll..obviously. But he isn't worse than Z, so no improvement there but it won't hurt us either.
2. Shaq will be a much better 1 on 1 defender than Z or Andy were. Orlando had good success when they isolated Dwight in the post because he was so much stronger. But Shaq can do a decent job on Howard 1 on 1, forcing Dwight to make basketball moves to score instead of just over-powering opponents.
3. Shaq will make Dwight work on defense...that's for sure. Shaq needs to be given attention to. That will help wear Dwight down over a 7 game series, then Cleveland can throw Z in off the bench.
4. Cleveland doesn't really need an athletic PF to start against Lewis. Andy guarded him to start games and Cleveland killed Orlando in the 1st quarters.
5. Cleveland added Anthony Parker, and he can help move LeBron down to the 4 spot to guard Shard. Parker is a solid defender that can come off the bench and guard Vince Carter.
