i totally agree that while marcus morris is a lot more offensively polished markieff is much more of what the sixers need. i think marcus morris basically is an inferior version of thaddeus young, while markieff should be able to back up both brand and even hawes when the sixers go to a small lineup.

Marcus is a Thad like player...as in he'll be a Hybrid 4. Markieff, is without a doubt a 4. A little bigger than Marcus, too. He'll be a good bench big who can give us minutes, and that is really what we need.

Are they projecting Jon Diebler to be a future NBA starting 2 guard? Even a 2nd string 2 to provide gritty shooting to our D, handles and athleticism would be great IMHO.

I very much doubt it. He's basically just another Andy Rautins.

You guys sure we have a 2nd rounder? I would take a developmental Euro big and hope for the best if we have a pick. Markieff would be a nice fit.

We do have a second, though I think it is swapped with NOH, I'm slightly confused as I've seen several mock drafts with us picking at 40 not like 50... So I could be wrong

Also, if conversations are not looking promising for us to keep Thad, I hope we make a move for both morris boys.

Nah, there are too many impact players in the second round the past few years. It would be nice to bring in a guy that can contribute instead of rolling the dice on a Euro.

I'd be interested in Rick Jackson in the 2nd Round. Just keep on improving the big man depth especially since Speights may be on the way out. A hull of Markieff Morris and Rick Jackson would be really nice IMO.

John Henson returning to school. That's probably a smart move because he'll only improve. Zeller returning too, which I imagine Barnes will eventually announce he is returning too since it looks like these guys have a pact to win a Nat'l Title next year.
J Sull, Tristan Thompson, John Henson, and Thomas Robinson (Another smart move IMO) all returning. J Sull will probably put up 20/10. I see Thompson putting up 16/11. Henson probably 14/12. Robinson probably 13/9. Next year will be a huge year for PFs.

Wow this draft is going to be so sad. We might be able to buy a back of the lottery pick just by trading Speights.

Does anyone know anything about this Bismack Byombo kid from the Congo? Draftexpress is starting to give him some love but haven't seen any extensive writeup on him. Right now he is rated either right above or below Markieff Morris in their latest mock draft.

man that Bismack Biyombo kid is exactly the type of project we need if hes available...
could be an Ibaka like player....
from what i read, w/o much experience, he entered the spanish ACB and led the league in blocks...and now starts for a playoff team there.
measured in at a hair under 6'8 w/o shoes... 6'9 with...240 lbs with under 5% body fat and a 7'7reach.
if hes there, id take him in a heartbeat...a tough, rugged defensive body that can block shots= exactly what we need.

This kid sounds extremely green and raw. What makes you think he would see the floor under Collins? And what makes you think he would have the ability to stay on the floor and not get in foul trouble. Players like this are usually useless until 3 or 4 years after they get drafted.

...but we'd take Ibaka right now. This is a little roll of the dice, but @ 16 he's worth the chance.

We would be leaving multiple players with higher percentages of making an impact on the board. No way it would be a good move to take this kid. The only teams that should take a chance on this kid with a first round pick are the secure contenders at the end of the round.

If Derrick Williams proves on the NBA level to be a quality defender, his success in that area will probably be like the following guys who are quality defenders that physically compare favorably to him: Rick Fox, Ron Artest, and George Lynch.
repost of an offense focused list of small forwards I think he physically compares favorably with:
Glenn Robinson
Jamal Mashburn
Chuck Person
rich man's George Lynch
Ron Artest
Wally Szczerbiak
poor man's Melo
more versatile Corliss Williamson
