Sixers fans big board: Pick #7 (POLL)
#1 was Wiggins
#2 was Embiid
#3 was Parker.
#4 was Exum
#5 was Randle
#6 was Vonleh
On to #7
Again, this is the player you most wish the Sixers would pick f the remainig players, not who you think will go 4th in some mock draft.
Poll choices being filled out by Dx mock draft, but if you want another choice upcoming just make some noise about it. NOTE: Added Kyle Anderson in that last spot per request.

In a very close call, I take the better free throw shooter and more well rounded player. Smart over Gordon.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

I went Smart. I like Gordon, but if we could only add 1, id take Smart.
Both are very good defensive players, but I think Noel/Gordon front court would be a mess offensively for awhile. Ideally, You'd want a guy at the 4 who can rebound well and keep the defense honest with the jump shot...not sure Gordon exactly fits that bill.
Smart has his own issues, mainly perimeter shooting....but I think he may be able too improve on it some. The defensive potential with a MCW-Smart backcourt is pretty intriguing, especially on a fast paced team like ours, having 2 guy who can start and lead a break would be great...add in Noel anchoring the D and you've got a pretty solid foundation defensively.

Wanted Smart 2 spots ago so voted him here. I think he's going to be a stud in a few years with the proper coaching, development and minutes.

I voted for Smart, but in a really uninspired way.

Gordon. Let Brett Brown and the development staff go to work on him. Ultra athletic glue guy. Will grown into PF size. Very good running the floor, great defender

Smart is a consistent release point from being an NBA All-star. He has less to work on, than any of the consensus top 8 players. He's better than Victor Oladipo right now.

I picked Smart because of his value, but a Smart-MCW backcourt will never work. They are both terrible shooters, and neither will probably ever become even average shooters.

Re: Sixers fans big board: Pick #7 (POLL)
This one is Gordon for me easily. Im a bit higher on Gordon than some others on this board, but I certainly understand the skepticism in his game.
I like him for a couple of reasons however. First and foremost, hes as athletic as anyone, something you cant teach. He also hustles his ass off. Something you will never have to worry about with him. Before the season, he was heralded as the next Blake Griffin. He showed at Arizona he doesnt quite have the Blake Griffin type game that many were touting. What he does have however, is some great intangibles to go along with elite athleticism.
Can he shoot yet? no. Does he have the ballhandling to be a good 3 man yet? no. Does he have the bulk to be a full time 4? no. But what he does have is a work ethic to get better, a willingness to be an absolute elite defender, guarding some 2's as well as at the 3 and the 4, and an elite ability to finish above the rim both in transition and off the back door lobs.
Many say hes a tweener. And while I agree to some extent, there are also plenty of players in this league who have been successful tweeners. Ive seen comparisons all over the place in who to compare Gordon to. What I see in Gordon is the potential to be a prime Andrei Kirilenko.
Kirilenko was a 6-8 about 215-220lbs guy who never averaged more than 16 a game, but would fill the stat sheet and play ELITE defense. Hed average about 15pts, 8reb, 2-3asts, and be near the top of the league in both blocks and steals. He could never really shoot, shot around 70% from the FT line, but had decent FG% because he understood his limitations and played above the rim. He was an all defensive player 3 teams in his career and made 1 all star team. He was also one of Kobe's worst nightmares in the playoffs as he would give Kobe and all other wing players fits when he played defense.
Thats exactly what I see out of Aaron Gordon at the height of his career. Can be a huge problem for any offensive wing player. May make 1 All Star team but more than likely just a guy who will fill a stat sheet and do what his team needs to win. He'll be on the all defensive team a few times. Some people may want more than that, but with this being our 2nd pick of the draft, Id gladly take that if we were to move up to #7 and this group is indeed whats left available. Every good team needs an Andrei Kirilenko type player who will do it all and help his team win. Aaron Gordon is that player.

Re: Sixers fans big board: Pick #7 (POLL)
I picked Gordon, and to me he represents the last of the picks that I would absolutely be thrilled if they were to fall to #10.
There are plenty of other prospects that I really like, but none other than Gordon and the top 6 that we have already chosen that I would feel like we really lucked out to get, or who I would consider trying to trade up for.
On pure value I suppose that I should put Smart into that category, but I am not convinced that Smart is versatile enough for him to work well here if he doesn't play the point. He would be nice as a third guard, but I like a few other players more.

Gordon. Athletic marvel with buttloads of potential. I think his game translates well at the next level giving him the highest ceiling out of the remaining lotto picks (although I don't have Smart too far behind).

Pretty surprised Gordon isn't winning this. I guess I'm pretty down on Smart though.

Hate Smart with a passion. Wouldn't even take him in the top 10.

Re: Sixers fans big board: Pick #7 (POLL)
I think most people are beginning to separate players into two player tiers, with the players within the tiers being a matter of taste and preference for the voters between each of the pair. So far based on the Board results it looks like:
Tier 1 - Wiggins/Embiid
Tier 2 -Parker/Exum
Tier 3 -Randle/Vonleh
and though not finished yet:
Tier 4 -Smart/Gordon
Tier 1 - Wiggins/Embiid
Tier 2 -Parker/Exum
Tier 3 -Randle/Vonleh
and though not finished yet:
Tier 4 -Smart/Gordon

I went Smart. I prefer BPA, but there are times when the BPA does not fit and will not succeed on your roster. I don't know if Smart and MCW are a possible fit, but for the value, Id like to try and make it work.

Yeah picks nine through fifteen are going to be a random mix and match. The next tier is probably:
Harris
McDermott
Stauskas
Nukic
Ennis
Young
Saric
Anderson
the likes of Payne and Capela are not far off either. I think we'll see Hinkie package some of our other 2nds or Thad to move up into the top eight. 10th pick may as well be 16th.
