i didn't like the Embiid pick , and I'm still lukewarm on it, but damn he is a super charismatic and likable kid.

I really do hope he turns into the next Olajuwon/Duncan and stays healthy

They did the same thing with Noel and MCW last year. If I'm not mistaken it has to do with keeping extra cap space. Embiid's cap hold right now is lower than what he will actually get in year 1 salary wise, after they do the 120% thing.

If I were to guess, I'd say it has something to do with the minny-cle deal and out involvement in it. Maybe Hink doesn't wana restrict himself with the amount of salary dumps we're gona get by signing any of our rookies. Just a guess tho
