Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Don't get too crazy about him. 75%+ chance we don't get the 1st pick.

Even if we do I'm sending his big ... To Boston and getting back their top 5 and Marcus Smart. Stanley Johnson and Maruc Smart with MCW would be special.

It will be specially awful yes.

Mygosh what a terrible lineup, I guess you want to pair those 3 with Noel and Embiid down and Saric as the main back-up too?

So 6 players that cant shot, nice.

That wouldn't be enough from Boston. We would at least need to add the better of their two lottery picks in 2016 since they have their own and Brooklyn's.

However, I am thinking that there isn't a draft day deal that would make sense for trading away Okafor. If we get him, then just take it into the summer of 2016 at least before we worry about trading any of the bigs.

It drives me crazy that people accept the height inflation that is done in basketball. No other sport counts the shoes in heights.

Lindros was apparently 6'7 on skates. He plays in skates so should we just say that he was 6'7?

The problem is, nba.com lists player heights in shoes. The problem arises when people say "he's 6'11"! He'll never compete against <player that I"m listing his nba.com height for>.

Get nba.com to change how they list players, and I agree, cite height without shoes. But you have to make sure you're making an apples-apples comparison.

He was measured 2 years in a row at 7' at the Nike Hoop Summit. The odds that he lost an inch in height (and 4" in standing reach!) are much less than the odds that UK just did a bad job that day.

I don't believe the 9'5 standing reach. That is higher than Embiid's (Embiid was measured at 9.5'5 with his shoes on which means that it is actually 9'4 or a bit more) and Embiid is nearly 2 inches taller with 2 inches longer wingspan.

I seriously doubt that Towns has a standing reach that is nearly 4 inches longer than Anthony Davis. Noel is basically the same height as Towns with a longer wingspan and his standing reach is only 9'2.

Eh. I don't really believe any of them as gospel, which was more my point. Saying "he's only this" is probably not the best idea at this point. If the combine measurements jive with either the UK or the two hoop summit measurements, then we have a better idea.

Starting to jump on the Towns as #1 bandwagon, although I'm most intriugued by Mudiay -- partly because while I enjoy MCW's trip-doub (almost quad-doub with those TOs) play, I think Mudiay can be a similar player but he's not 33 years old like MCW and at least I can tell myself for the next five years "oh, he'll learn how to shoot."

Feel like Okafor, Towns, and Mudiay are three best prospects in the draft, just wish we'd be able to see more of Mudiay (and Towns for that matter with this platoon ****.)

I'm sooooooo totally going to change my opinion as I see more of these guys (my viewing has been somewhat limited thus far.) Like I said a couple days ago, this draft is really confusing because the Sixers could go in so many different directions.

Should be exciting though.

Myles Turner had another dominant performance (against a bad team). Now averaging 11.5/7/3 off the bench on great efficiency. Shooting 3s as well.
I speak the truth.

Just gonna add to non-informative comments by saying that I've been on the Karl Towns Jr. bandwagon since before the season and still am.

Clint (Utah)

Every year you put out your "tiers" board. It seems like you have a top 4 in this draft. Where do they rate on your tiers system?

Chad Ford
(1:37 PM)

Jahlil Okafor, Emmanuel Mudiay, Karl-Anthony Towns, Kristaps Porzingis in some order. Okafor is the sure thing. Towns has a higher ceiling, but isn't as polished. Mudiay has huge upside, but is still raw in critical areas. Porzingis interesting combination of size, athleticism and skill. If he were playing in the NCAA, he'd get more mentions as a potential No. 1 pick. Those four are in the Top Tier for now and really have been since our first Big Board in July. So far, nothing has changed in our Top 4.

Okafor is the prize in this draft in my opinion.

I think that Chad misunderstood the question. I think that the question was about how the players in this draft fit into the tiers as he has defined them in previous years. Last year he said that Embiid, Parker and Wiggins were all in the top tier of potential stars, but that the 2013 draft had nobody in that top tier.

In my opinion, Okafor fits into that tier, but Mudiay and Towns are not. They are in the same tier that last year had Smart, Exum, Gordon, Randle, etc...

I don't know how to rate Porzingis.

I'll be watching tonight how Okafor deals with the 7 footer Brimah and his ridiculous wing span.

Okafor with a sick spin move and a dunk finish, straight up nasty.

For college basketball, Okafor is ridiculously unfair since he is basically a man playing among boys. Due to his size and offensive versatility in the low post, team has to double and occasionally triple team him just to get the ball out of his hand. If we have the number one pick then we need to get Okafor, and sort out this fit and rotation stuff out later. Can you imagine Embiid and Okafor down on the low block? Good luck double teaming these two dudes. The only thing we need to do is trade up from our Miami Heat pick to 6-10 and get Hezonja to space the floor.
