I could see Covington to a playoff contender at the deadline for a mid first.

Hmmm. Maybe.

I would only do this if landry is outgoing as well.

Trade 1
Joel Embiid to Celtics for better of Mavs 2016 1st 1-7 protected or Nets 2016 1st, Sixers 2016 2nd

Trade 2
Rights to Chu Chu to Heat for Chalmers, Birdman and:
- Sixers right to swap lesser of Sixers 2018 1st or Kings 2018 1st (1-10 protected) for Heat 2018 1st (1-3 and 8-30 protected)
- If the 2018 1st swap does not occur then Sixers have right to swap their 2020 1st for Heat 2020 1st (1-3 protected)
- Sixers right to swap their 2022 1st for Heat 2022 1st (1-10 protected)
- If the 2022 1st swap does not occur the Heat will send their 2022 2nd and 1 million cash

Trade 3
Sixers 2017 2nd 31-55 protected to Thunder for Novak and:
- Better of Thunder 2017 2nd or Grizzlies 2017 2nd
- Sixers option to swap their 2019 1st for Thunder 2019 1st (1-10 protected)
- If the 2019 1st swap does not occur the Sixers have right to swap their 2021 1st for Thunder 2021 1st (1-10 protected)
- If the 2021 1st swap does not occur the Thunder will send their 2021 2nd and 1 million cash

Creative! No way I send Embiid to Boston. And the protections on the Miami 2018 swap is weird. I'd make it 1-3 protected and 15-30 protected.

The protection is weird because Heat owe their 2018 1st to the Suns 1-7 protected.

I posted a much simpler version of trade 2 earlier in the day than you came around to the similar idea... viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1402357#start_here

Also, it is my understanding that apparently you cannot protect a swap, So, adding 1-3 to it is not possible.

I think a 18 or 19 would make sense.

I see. Is there a reason you have swaps out two years apart? I'd prefer to have them consecutively than wait until freaking 2022! I'm patient but not that patient.

Heat owe their 2021 1st to the Suns. Bosh and Dragic expire after 2018-19 so their 2020 1st round pick could be in the top 10, that's why I made it 2020 instead of 2019.

I'm almost certain a swap can be protected. If not then that's really silly.

There hasn't been a single pick swap with the pick swap having protection added to it yet.

Am I crazy for thinking the Heat will challenge the Cavs for the east? If Wade is healthy, they easily have the 2nd best roster imo. Whiteside is legit and Bosh was playing some really good basketball before he went down with an injury. I guess it all comes down to Wade's health.

I'd actually like to see the Heat have a really good season.

There was a thread on the main board with early predictions. I had them 3rd in the East. Since we were owed their pick after the season I went through their game logs. Was surprised to find that they were under .500 when Bosh and Wade both played year. That was a little cause for concern.

Bosh went down as Whiteside seemed to be breaking out and Dragic was added. So there is a lot of room for improvement there. Plus they got lucky and got someone that can play for Wade when or hurt or needing rest.

Serious threat to the Cavs? That I don't know. Needless to say going from almost getting their pick at 11 to potentially having it fall into the 20s is a let down. I'm not about to start rooting for Bosh to not be able to play in order to get it in a better spot either.

SAC trade buzz about Cousins has come up again. That pick swap could really pay off. Hinkie, you sly dog you.

Thought the same thing last year, a team as old and injury prone as the Heat makes for unpredictability.

That entire soap opera is going to be amazingly fun to watch and even better to benefit from the implosion that is sure to happen.

We sure are an optimistic group of fans.

Rondo
Ben
Gay
Cousins

Not bad at all. They will be a better team than us, that's for sure.

Can we swap the OKC/Miami picks with Sac?
