2017 Pick Watch (Sac Swap Rights, LAL pick)

Post#1 » by HartfordWhalers » Thu Apr 28, 2016 6:36 pm

New thread looking ahead to next year, next year's draft picks, swap rights, etc.

LAL pick is top 3 protected again.

Maybe we should trade Okafor plus consideration to SAC for DMC. Perhaps a third team gets involved like BOS. Mainly, I want DMC to leave SAC to help Sam's Swap Rights (SSR). We could end up with DMC or the BRK pick this year. Cousins and Embiid, hmmmm...
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

I'd trade Okafor and their two picks swaps +their first rounder back to them for Cousins. If they are going in the crapper, they will want control over their tanking ways.

While I would love to see the Lakers hire Doug Collins, he will likely make them better next year (hurting our pick) while ruining any long term future.

the plan is to get as good as quickly as possible....I fully believe we could have been a borderline playoff team last year by adding young veterans....using or draft picks and cap space.....can I specifically tell you who? no.

I don't think he makes them that good though.

Worse case scenario is the Lakers draft 1-2nd, strike out in free agency, and imagine to suck into a top 3 spot again next year all of which is followed by Westbrook and Blake Griffin joining Russell and Ingram.

Westbrook
Russell
Ingram
Griffin
(Anybody)

and the team wins 55 giving Philly a 2018 pick in the late 20's.

I cannot see the LA fanbase liking Lakers to suck again. If they hire Walton, gotta imagine that the get up to 6-7 in standings with Kings free falling.

Lakers aren't going to improve by 25+ wins in one off season, even if they do convince an All-Star to sign there. Walton would have to bring some of those Warriors with him.

Good for him, and good for them long term. He isn't going to make a difference next year though.

It's annoying not getting excited when a star becomes available.

A deal involving Cousins to Boston for that Nets pick make a lot of sense.

As long as Cousins doesn't come to Philly, I'm good. I can't watch a season of this guy pouting every 3 minutes.

I hope the Celtics trade a bunch of their assets for Cousins. Cousins is a time bomb. He's moody. I'm more scared of one of those NJ picks striking gold.

I like that the Sixers will be able to throw Embiid, Okafor and Noel at Cousins in head to head match ups.

The Kings are the only team I've seen where coaches or organizations announce they've withdrawn interest (McHale) or refused permission (Lakers on Walton's behalf).

Jorger to Sac a real possibility. Way better than any other coach they have considered.

How long are you going to keep that Celtic symbol?

I'm so nervous for the lottery already. I'm going to be a freaking mess next Tuesday.
