Throughout the game, the 6-3, 170-pound Rodriguez created open shots for himself and teammates. He hit 11 of 14 from the field and collected four rebounds and three steals in an All-Star-like 30-minute performance that was duly noted by the opposition.

“He played great,” said Denver superstar Allen Iverson, who scored a game-high 32 points. “If you can judge him off of tonight’s game, I mean, wow. It’s a long, grueling season, but if he stays with it, the sky’s the limit for him. This one will do a lot for his confidence. It’s a game that can make him feel good about himself and know that he can play and be successful in this league.”

Sergio's become a much better player since he came back to Europe. He crossed the pond a bit too early to join the Blazers, never had much luck with McMillan there and then it was difficult for him to make a name for himself despite doing reasonably well in his limited time in NY and Sacramento. After coming back to Spain, he regained a more prominent role, went on to win Euroleague MVP a couple years ago, and the most important thing for his NBA future: he's become a much more reliable shooter.

Absolutely love this. I don't even know how good he's going to be, but he's exactly the typ of veteran you want to sign, and only a 1 year deal as well. Bravo BC!

He improved his shot a lot since his last stint at the nba.

Former Euroleague MVP.

His game is made for the NBA style of play.

Great handles and amazing court vision. Not much of a defender at the NBA level, though he's also improved on that area during his time back in Europe. He's not a lights out shooter and will have hot and cold streaks, but he's now quite solid and able to average 40% from distance over the season (and, while the line is closer here, he usually shoots from way beyond). It's just a guess but I'd expect him to be around 36%-37% maybe in the NBA.
