I actually am a fan of this call-up. Shawn has been dominating the D-league and is a welcome body that can log minutes at the 5.

Just keep him away from his teammates' feet.

I remember seeing Long play in college when I was watching Elfrid Payton play. He is a very good Inside scorer with nice rebounding skills. Of course in the DL it is more like a YMCA league, so we shall see how his skills do here. But I think if he gets fed the ball enough, he will score pretty easily. But if Long does better in similar minutes then Okafor does, I gotta think that will basically put Okafor's trade value at nil.

I actually like it too. Was an elite rebounder in college.

Hopefully this spells less Justin Harper.

I honestly feel bad for the guy. Sure he was turrible, but he literally got thrown to the wolves having to play out of position at center against Drummond.

We need the body and nice to give a guy on the Sevens a shot. Should have some familiarity with the system which helps. Wonder if Okafor gets shut down at some point.

Haha,Yea I hear you, but I just don't see anything in his game or body of work that screams NBA player.

His strength (shooting) is a bit awkward and his release is somewhat slow
He is limited athletically, moves pretty slow
He does nothing else well. (rebound, defend, etc)

Even in these D-League guys, you can try and identify a skill or 2 that are likely to project. Harper does nothing but boast a 40% 3PT shot. Give me a shooter who is also contributing on the boards, or w/ steals or blocks....something!

At least Long was rebounding well (11.1 RPG/25% DREB) on top of scoring 20+ PPG.

13 points and 7 boards in 15 minutes. +/- of +11 led the team. He hit a three, needs to work on Fts. He looked pretty solid.

He really get's after it and was aggressive all night. I don't know much about D-league stats but I really hope the freethrows were an aberration.

Holmes, Biid and Long spacing the floor at the C position. Simmons collapsing the opponents D. Hawks on steroids.

Not bad. Hardworking rebounder with a respectable shooting touch. Showed off a couple of nice passes as well. Solid debut tonight.
