EAGLES WIN SUPER BOWL LII! 2018 CHAMPS!!!

Post#1 » by Embiid P » Mon Jan 15, 2018 8:03 am

So with the Eagles obviously advancing to the NFC championship game vs. the Vikings, I figured I'd start a thread here in honor of their run. How does everyone feel about our chances? I personally am glad that we are facing the Vikings instead of the Saints, as Keenum has yet to be tested on the road outdoors in the cold weather. I predict that it will be another low-scoring defensive battle like it was against the Falcons, but we pull it off in the end. I say we win 17-13.

BTW I also started a thread in the Eagles forum but since it's quite dead there, I decided to start one here too. Feel free to go there in case the mods here decide to lock this thread.

I feel like we're playing with house money right now. I have no expectations, just excitement. I definitely agree that we got the preferable matchup. Looks like it's supposed to be about 50 on Sunday though so I don't know if the weather will be much of a factor.

We have the late game so around 7pm when the game is starting it should be colder, around 40 degrees and dropping.

I agree with the OP. We win in a low scoring defensive slugfest. Our defensive front is going to hit Case Keenum like he's never been hit this year.

Vikings D is the best in the NFL by a long shot ...they are big ,fast , and talented. Mike Zimmer is the best defensive mind in the NFL. I can't see Nick Foles doing anything against that defense. I hate to say it , but Minnesota wins 13 to 6.

Team of destiny. The Eagles have already won the Superbowl in a future timeline, we're just waiting for this one to catch up to it.

I'm certainly not expecting a win, but I like their odds better in a low scoring game than I would have with Foles trying to keep up with Brees.

I think if Doug has any trick plays up his sleeve to call, this is definitely the game to use them.

Great Win against the Falcons, if the Defense can do the same to the Vikings and the offense can lean on our running game then we have a great chance especially since they aren't used to playing outdoors in cold weather.
Also hoping Nick has one of his better games but I'm definitely not expecting a Win.

Eagles D at home has much better overall statistics than the Viking D on the road. If that holds up we win pretty easily.

I think it all comes down to Foles, which is a scary thought.

If he has 250 yards, 2 td’s and no turnovers I think that we win.

Expecting the birds to pull this out and surprise the world and make history 2 weeks from now. Yes, the odds are against us but I just get the feeling that our defense will come through at home and in the super bowl. Biggest stages of their lives, let’s see what this furious eagles D is about. Im thinking they’ll step up to the plate.
The scariest question in NBA history.

Eagles are 14-3 under pederson at home, 1 of those losses being the meaningless game against dallas to end this years regular season.

The vegas line opened at vikings -3.5 and has already dropped a point. If the line drops to -2.5 sat or right before sunday it usually means heavy sharp money coming in. If the eagles win and play patriots theyll be 7pt dogs, if they play jags they’ll be 1.5pt dogs, soooo lets go jags and eagles.

Prediction eagles dline dominates the line of scrimmage and wins this game. Pro football focus has cox rated 90.7, graham rated 91.6, jernigan 82.7, and curry rated 84.7 (i dont feel like looking into barnett/longs ratings.)

Vikings oline with these ratings: left tackle 49.2, left guard 68.4, center 43.3, right guard 78.6, right tackle 46.9. Clearest advantage for eagles. Scary thing is the vikings have the clear advantage at qb.

Vikings coming off emotional win, dome team, and travel across country. I think birds take this.

20-17 eagles.

Very excited for Sunday. I gave my two tickets to my older brother and my father as I really wanted them to have the chance to be there but luckily was able to finagle other ticket for myself later so everyone will be there. Hoping for a special family memory.

New member here, this is my first post! I live in Philly and I think the Birds have a real home field chance. This town will go bananas Sunday night with a win; crossing fingers and locking all windows and doors.

Hope you kick their butts, then kick the crap out of the Patriots.

With Wentz possibily. With Foles, I don’t think we kick anyone’s butt lol

Case Keenum has the highest passer rating in the NFL since week 10. That combination along with the best defense in the NFL is going to be tough for Philadelphia to overcome without Carson Wentz.

Hey, I said hope, not predict. Never know, it's kind of a weird year.

That’s the thing though. We can’t count on Foles, but he is capable of having big games.

There are reasonably likely scenarios where we win this game handily. There are also reasonably likely scenarios where we lose handily.

I go into the game without expectations.
