Our original second rounder would have been 58, so looks like Morey got busy recruiting guys he liked in that range.

Teams get their two-way players in the new CBA, correct?

Hopefully they offer Louis King a Hinkie special deal to be the new Shake.

I love me some Louis"nothing but net" King.

Before being a pro, does Maxey projects to be a better ISO scorer than Terq Smith and Ricky Council?

Definitely. I think one's ability to iso can be gauged by their ability to get to the rim unassisted and finish. Maxey crushes those other two. He attacked the rim with identical frequency and finished at identical accuracy as the much bigger Council and he got there far more unassisted than he did. Smith is a trash finisher.

Maxey: 16.9% assisted at the rim, 65.1% finishing rate, 31.1% of FGA occurred at the rim
Smith: 18.3% assisted at the rim, 51.3% finishing rate, 21.4% of FGA occurred at the rim
Council: 37.5% assisted at the rim, 65.8% finishing rate, 33.8% of FGA occurred at the rim

I do like the guards we've added as UDFA's. Smith reminds me a little bit of Bones Hyland and I like Councils athleticism from what little I've seen. It would be nice if one of them ended up becoming a steal for us. Really can't be mad at this point about us not buying a pick in the second round. Either one of these guys could have easily been drafted in the second round at any point. Smith was being touted as a lotto pick this time last year.

Every year I forget how bad college refs are & then I’m immediately reminded on opening night.

Just awful. And SEC football officiating has been horrific for many years now. Probably all college football, but 75-80% of my viewing is SEC.

Cal handed the keys to Sheppard and the offense looks unstoppable. Wagner being out might be a blessing in disguise.

Thanks for the update on Smith. I did some research on his situation. Morey may have picked a winner here.

So with the 16th pick in the next draft I wonder who he will pick up next.
