Payne has a shooting form that only a mother could love. Bamba doesn't suck but he's close to suck. How in the world was this frail lackadaisical big man a lottery pick and a hit record?

The real question is, how it is possible that a good player like Oubre could be had for the minimum? is this a really bad reflection on NBA as a whole?

I'm not sure there an objective measure that indicates Oubre is an overall good player. What he is is high physical trait and offensive skill so he is high variance; capable of having very good and impactful games.

Given the imperfections of this roster, Oubre does possibly raise the ceiling of this team. He could, in theory, give the Sixers 3 of these games in a 7 game series against the Celtics which would tilt the series our way.

Would I bet on it? No way!

Everything that you described at first indicates a player who is worth WAY MORE than the minimum, so question still remains.

This is one of the best seasons in Oubre's career and he still has a negative net rating, a negative BPM (negative both in offense and defense), is a below-average TS scorer on kind of an average volume, bad passer, is shooting 30% from 3, and has bad percentages from everywhere except around the rim.

What's the underrated part?
