Lowry’s on v off number continues to be mostly bad. He has to find ways to get that poor defender on him switched to our scorers on a much higher frequency.

I didn’t want to get emotionally attached to this game.

But there I was, 4th qtr watching. Watching important FTs be missed, guys getting tackled, (and staying in the game?), catching the ball with one foot out of bounds, shot clock violations, charges….throwing the ball away….

We won because of good D and piss poor shooting by them

Played as hard or harder than the Knicks on defense and getting extra possessions. High frequency of Oubre and Tobias hunting McBride, Bogdanovic, Burks and Brunson.

We did that and thats why we won.

Keep it up and just accept the result.

To start the third quarter, we had Lowry standing in the corner, where he was defended by the weak link in Brunson. Then we had Oubre, Payne, and Tobi doing those weave actions, which are useless since they won't allow us to hunt Brunson on defense. We turned the corner when we benched Lowry and started hunting Brunson, Alec Burks, and Bogdanovic.

It will be interesting to see how Thibs will make his adjustments. Oubre did a great job defending Brunson; he wasn't comfortable in this game. And when Lowry switched onto him, Lowry did a good job denying him the ball and defending him.

If I were to guess, it's mostly because the expected points from taking a heavily challenged mid-range shot from guys like Hart, Achiuwa, or Sims are similar or worse compared to his teammates taking lightly contested deep 3 (similar to what Ben Simmons to Roco/Dario deep 3 back then). What we should be doing is running a lot of two-man actions with Tobi and the player guarded by Brunson, Burks, McBride, or Bogdanovic, force a switch, and then let Harris do his thing. The Knicks like to double those, and he can kick it to an open teammate.
