Game 69 (Giggity): Sixers @ Suns

Surprised that there is no game thread, guess all yall are asleep.

Tie game right now at 17 a piece. Suns couldn't hit a shot to start the game, but we got massively out rebounded and let them back in. Maxey has started cold, but no Tobias so we got a chance.

Games like this show why Maxey has such a positive BPM while he's around average efficiency on big volume.

The amount of traps and doubles he's creating are massive for the rest of the offense.

These Sixers end of bench players in the fourth look worse than a summer league team.

Seems like they have never run through the game plan, set plays, or defensive structures, just five blokes out there playing for themselves. I guess the coaching staff banked on Embiid carrying them though and never speaking to anyone that isn't in the top 8 players.

This is about what I expect at this point. :(

Acquiring Grayson Allen and Nurkic while parting ways with Ayton was a great move for the Suns. In hindsight, the timing seemed too early for me to pull the trigger on the Ayton deal, but the Suns executed it at the perfect time; they didn't wait until Ayton's value had completely depleted.

The Suns don't have players we can exploit mismatches with our weave actions, as they dont have a PG that Oubre can exploit, they have 3-4 guard/wing tweeners that can easily switch on Oubre and Maxey on our weave actions, while they have double rim protectors with KD/Nurkic.

On the other hand, the Suns have players who naturally create mismatches without the need for screen plays. Big gap between KD and Booker vs Oubre and Maxey.

Additionally, Nurkic (15 rebs) poses a difficult match-up for the rail-thin Paul Reed or Bamba. Moreover, the Suns won the 3-point shooting battle, making it an uphill battle for us.

Suns will hunt Maxey - he will be unplayable on defense.

Maxey can make up for it on offense, just not tonight. I think having Embiid here where Suns can’t switch their two man game would open up opportunities for him to score.

The amount is traps, and doubles that far away from the basket and without turning it over. Should be a cheat code for Tobi, buddy Hield and Oubre

I didn't watch. Looks like we took a beating. Council got some run huh? Was it during the end when the game was out of reach? Hopefully we bounce back against the Lakers, but I have a feeling we've got another beatdown coming. They owe us one.

Not expecting another win until Toronto. Anything before that is a bonus.

0-6 is definitely possible. Likely maybe.
