Kohfeldt with 6 losses in a row going into the final game of the 1st leg against Bayern.

Guess they couldn't have done worse by keeping van Bommel?

Augsburg spending 17 mil. € on an 18 y/o Dallas FC striker.
There goes the myth of them always trying to portray themselves as a club that has little money available.

4-1 loss to Leipzig.
Hack with a stupid red and penalty in the 20th minute. Not much you can do afterwards.

The absence of Niakhate and St. Juste really hurting us here. We have no depth at the CB position. In fact, we only have 2 good CBs for a 3-5-2 system.

Next week we'll play a clever Bochum team with a depleted defense again. Going to be hard to get a result there.

Good fight today and three points.

Still offense is a work in progress.

It's a home game. You should take care of business.

We have a difficult away game. Bochum looking to take revenge for Saturdays loss.

And then another away game in Fürth who have all week to prepare for us while we probably end up going into OT against Bochum.

Well that was one of the worst performances I have seen from us in a while.

Nothing worked. Just outworked by a plumber team like Bochum.

Wonder what Det has to say about the current situation in Gladbach. Looks like they are in shambles.

Signed Barkok and Burgzorg.
...not the most promissing signings unfortunately...I guess you are not going to get much more with limited budget, though.

2-0 win against Hoffenheim.
Not the prettiest game but got the job done.

We now scored on 33 penalities in a row in the league. League record.

Süle going from Bayern to Dortmund.

Wonder why he didn't go to the Premier League.

Good move for Dortmund, though, if he stays healthy.

He apparently went to Dortmund on identical wages as his Bayern offer, so it seems like he wanted to be a starter at a continental. Which EPL cl contender would he have had better odds of being a starter in?

Chelsea is overstocked on class CB's and probably has the strongest cohort in Europe currently, Pep is Pepping, Liverpool also has a strong and young cohort. I think both Madrid's would have been interested but even there it's competitive and I'm unsure if either club has much money for him in the coming summer.

Is Chelsea really that overstocked?

They have:
- Thiago Silva - getting older
- Christensen - expiring - Bayern and many others might very well go after him
- Rüdiger - expiring - Bayern and many others might very well go after him
- Sarr - hasn't really played much
- Chalobah

Any CL contender probably needs 5 class CBs.
I am convinced they'll lose at least one of Christensen / Rüdiger meaning that they need at least another guy. Not necessarily saying that should've been Süle but I think they'll have to sign a CB in the offseason.

Reece James also has had some excellent games as a ballplaying CB when not in his usual RB slot. Tbf this Chelsea is perhaps 1 of 2 continental level teams which has played 3 at the back over the last decade and needs more than 3 elite players in squad for the role.

Still, with that listing you named, do you believe Sule would get more minutes than he presently does at Bayern? I don't, and rate him as 3rd in that list after Rudiger.

I mean Süle was widely regarded as a better talent than Rüdiger ever since I can imagine. Rüdiger has kind of made a big jump by eliminating most of the terrible mistakes he did in the early days from his game.
Still, I see no reason why Süle wouldn’t get a good amount of minutes at Chelsea.
