i dont think Gyau can play on the left
hes a very straight forward attacker
i dont think Ream has played DM in a while
i think at his club its either been FB or CB
Green is now injured and has been sent back to Hamburg
i can see JK going with a skinny diamond formation
dono - alti

and, i would like to see Garza
i dont like Chandler at all
but, JK, likes him
so if hes with the team
i see him as the #1 backup at both FB spots
and starter when others are missing

Re: Official Team USA Thread
Landon was fantastic, and the team was creating chances left and right with him.
We did fine at the World Cup result wise, coming out of a tough group, so we can't be furious at the exclusion. But we can be unfulfilled and always left to wonder how the team would have fared with him. Having an actual engine and more than one attacker who wasn't on an island, would have been kind of nice so we weren't just absorbing possession in hopes the opponent wouldn't score while not being a threat ourselves past the Portugal game. Agudelo would have helped in that cause as well.
I couldn't care much less that Green scored the goal against Belgium. It's looking incredibly fluky right now. He hasn't done anything else in several games in the stars and stripes. He has serious tunnel vision and is a weakling. Adu had a similar skill-set, hype, and occasionally scored for U.S. too, and look at his perception now.
Jurgen is full of crap with this angle about the U.S. having too much nostalgia for vets who don't have it anymore, meanwhile bringing Brad Davis and a teenager who previously played in the fourth division and looked like utter crap internationally. Landon can outplay them in his sleep right now.

So Colombia won 2-1. Good game, bad refereeing though. Missed penalty for Colombia and no offside call on our first goal.

Re: Official Team USA Thread
not that JK will or would
but i would love to see some guys
start and go 70mins
so we can see what we have
Ireland, is not a top team
but if we play our C guys and Noobs
it will be a good test
"I" would like to see
Morris ------ Rubin ------ Wood
........Diskerud - Bedoya
................Morales
Garza - Brooks - Besler - Fabian
.................Guzan
gives us a great look at 4 players
with lots of minutes
and they still get good support from the D line
and the Mids
Besler as a R.CB, would also be new

Re: Official Team USA Thread
pretty embarrassing scoreline...
i really don't like Cameron, he is crap. Tim Ream only played a few minutes....but i thought we realized he was not a national team player years ago.
Also i think it's pretty damn cool that he called up/played a guy who is still in college, but idk if Morris is ready for the natl team
end of the day the defeat and score are not a big deal

Re: Official Team USA Thread
In spite of being a big fan, I was rooting for them to get drubbed so Jurgen could get a step closer to the door. Better to have these performances in friendlies than Copa America, let alone the World Cup. Jurgen was always a mediocre at best coach for the U.S., he just benefited some from being in a cycle with a World Cup outside Europe, and with Mexico melting down. Now he's a 2nd cycle coach, and even the good ones like Arena typically fail.
Cameron is not crap. I never liked him as a CB either. It's just part of a comedy of errors by Jurgen to play him there. He's primarily a CDM, secondarily a RB. But he's had his German favorites in those positions like Fabian, Chandler, D-Will, Morales, and Jones. So Cameron typically has played out of position. He'd be a major asset at CDM, one of our better starters during Jurgen's tenure, but he effed that up. Jurgen's biggest problem in general is that he's an extremely small-minded coach in a way you just can't afford to be with the U.S. national team. Maybe his bias toward footballers from traditional nations (especially his own) and in major European leagues (which he's failed in getting them to by capping them out of MLS) wouldn't get in the way while managing other countries, but it does enormously here. So he really should have never been hired, and needs to leave, now.

Re: Official Team USA Thread
I don't know if he sucks as a coach, but I always felt that he was full of bs when he promised to revolutionize soccer in America. This is not a process one man can take on. It's a commitment from U.S soccer and careful planning and development that would take at least 20 years to succeed.
Most High school and academy coaches still emphasize running, strength. defense, discipline, efficiency over technique and skill. Jurgen promising to change all that was either naive or insincere.

Re: Official Team USA Thread
if JK could just SHUT UP
things would be better off
he talks to much
then contradicts the things he says
wow, did we have a **** game
Chandler is crap
1st off, hes better at R.FB than Left
he got burned a bunch of times
Besler and Cameron had poor games
they were out of position a bunch of times
and even got beat 1v1
Fabian was ok
Morris was ok. he had Wondo in front of him and Chandler behind him
and he was L.Mid, which is a new spot for him
he is a DM, CB and then randomly R.Mid
best player today was obviously, Bedoya
he is the only player that is actually getting better
*
JK still has issues selecting the right team
then keeps playing players out of position

I like Jurgen, but it is concerning that we have next to no viable talent in the pipeline while Dempsey ages and Bradley gets worse.
