No way, the A-League is of good quality considering it's still in it's infancy.

There are a surprising amount of internationals playing in the League.

Man, Adelaide United have six new signings. And only seven players that have played more than a dozen games for the club. Going to be an interesting season.

BC_ , Hindmarsh looks awesome in your signature.

BTW, Adelaide United fan here. Brisbane look amazing soo far - they deserve a big crowd this week as they go for the outright Australian record.

A-League

Post#16 » by BC_ » Fri Nov 25, 2011 2:07 pm

Went to see Adel United draw 0-0 with Newc Jets tonight. Both had a loose man in defense in the first half; we adjusted at HT and put the loose man forward but had a guy sent off before things got interesting. I like our squad moving forward but worried the much-needed confidence may never arrive.

Who do you support?
Does A-League hold your attention over EPL and/or US sports?
Will soccer ever overtake other football codes in Australia?

A-League

Post#17 » by t-time » Fri Nov 25, 2011 2:14 pm

I'm a season ticket holder at Adelaide United but couldn't be bothered going tonight. The players attitude this season has been pitiful and heartless. Sort of like a bunch of Eddy Curry's without the fat.

New signings have been bad - cant stand watching a midfield with Dilevski, Caravella and Usucar. All unimaginative plonkers. Really need another playmaker that can link between defence and Vidosic and Serge / Djite.

I love the a-league, love the sport and really want it to do well. I think the standard of the league has really picked up - Brisbane for example are an amazing team and I never thought guys like Kewell and Emerton would come back. Even if they don't play that well the hype and publicity is great.

I actually really rate Caravella and Usucar. I really don't rate Rini Coolen, his structures aren't suited to our squad and he's too rigid in his strategy.

I remember reading in the Advertiser that the new signings would take Adelaide United to 2nd this season. Probably they then congratulated each other for not over-hyping the team.
