2014 FIFA World Cup Qualification

The group winners will qualify directly for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Among the nine group runners-up, the eight best runners-up (determined by records against the first-, third-, fourth- and fifth-placed teams only for balance between different groups) will advance to the play-offs, where they will be drawn into four home-and-away ties to determine the other four qualifiers.

Varane earns a call up from Deschamps! Here's hoping for more good things from him in his game for France.

What I love about having him the most is even at his young age, he is calm and collected, in contrast to Ramos and Pepe. It will be good to see him challenge them for the starting spot and hopefully push Ramos back out to RB. Defensive line up of Marcelo-Pepe-Varane-Ramos will be great, with Coentrao and Arbeloa being viable challengers for the wingback positions, and might allow us to play Khedira and Modric ahead of them more often instead of Xabi and the Bison.

I saw Spain didn't call up Javier Martinez, what a slap in the face. Guy should be starting ahead of Busquets

Spain really needs to pick up the pace.

Shocked this game is still 0-0.

I think this is Germany's WC to win, but I wouldn't be surprised if they screw it up somehow.

I never understood why teams didn't park the bus vs Spain. That strategy works against Barcelona and Spain is pretty much the same team without Messi. I'm glad Finland finally tried it.

Only thing I remember from the 2006 UCL final was Henrik Larsson, that man just changed the game and how pissed off Pires looked after getting subbed.

yeah larsson played well , and pires was pissed after we subbed him out with his family in the stands in paris. My hate for almunia was cemented that day , letting in two near post goals within 10 mins :banghead:
