only a matter of time til City cashes in at this rate...

The Kroos/Modric tandem to start will be the killer midway... should've gone with Touch IMO alongside Modric

Another unbelievable save by Courtois from a Haaland header, this one is even better. World class.

Best GK in the world.

Bernardo finally puts the ball in the net for City. De Bruyne plays a pinpoint pass into the box, and Bernardo deceives Courtois by opening his body to feign a shot into the far corner, but slashes it in at the near post.

Kroos hits the bar with a pure powerful strike from outside the box. Think Ederson got a fingertip on it.

2-0 to City. This time it's Grealish's turn to play a pinpoint pass into the box, as he finds Gundogan cutting in centrally, who has his shot saved, only for Bernardo to play a precise floating header off the rebound. This came right after Real had their best spell of the game possessionally, culminating in the aforementioned Kroos effort.

Yeah they look scary right now. You have to fancy them for the treble if they're able to finish the job here.

Much better start to the second half by Real. Ederson makes a good save to force an arcing Alaba free kick behind.

That's game, 3-0. A free kick comes in, Akanji gets his head to it, but it deflects in off Eder Militao.

Meanwhile City fans do their crappy Poznan celebration. A pretty comprehensive performance by City, won just about every 50/50 ball, dominated midfield, created a multitude of chances and were it not for a good performance by Courtois, would be an ugly scoreline.

I missed the 1st 2 goals but looks like City exploited that left space between Kroos/Modric and Camavinga by having De Bruyne making spare man runs. Ancelotti's trust in those guys in pivot roles over Casemiro has always been controversial, and City's 1st 3 goals last year were a direct result of abusing Kroos at DM. City is going thru comfortably this time. I'm not sure this is good enough an attempt by Ancelotti to win the tie. City's formation hasn't properly been tested with 2 forwards or direct wing attacks.

Wow - goal 4. I'm a little relieved at this manner of loss. Madrid has been renewing a bunch of mediocres and wasted most of last summer in the superfluous Tchou for Casemiro swap instead of addressing striker or right back. The club will be forced to improve the top of the squad.

Lets be honest.

Unless City suffer from food poisoning ahead of the game, Inter has no chance to win this.

Real are beaten more easily than Leicester city.
