I think that you, Köln, and us have the quality to get clear, but Darmstadt, Bochum, and Heidenheim aren't going to just roll over and Heidenheim seems to have the quality to stay up too. With the 3rd spot in BuLi2 looking like it'll go to a traditional club atm, the relegation playoff could be very competitive.

long time no see, mate

Neuer, Kimmich and others were busy assisting on Eintracht goals…

Eintracht scored like on every chance in the first half.

Tuchel is one of the mos overrated coaches in recent football history.

Outside of the Bayern board where he is very overrated he's generally underrated. His work at PSG and Chelsea were among the best of those clubs' managerial history.

All clubs he left were worse without him.

Chelsea won the UCL with him and became a mid-table team without him.
Paris never made it back to the CL finals.
Dortmund barely made it to the CL after he left.
Mainz went from Europa League to mid-table.

Tuchel may not be the easiest person to work with from a human standpoint (although I don't care much about that), but as a coach he's one of the best out there. Several players like Neymar, Mbappe or Aubameyang spoke very highly of him when he was gone.

If Bayern can't work it out with Tuchel, I think this team is just uncoachable. High level, but uncoachable. Just like the German national team (looking at you, Kimmich, Goretzka, Gnabry and Sané).

I think Tuchel's tactics at Bayern don't fit the squad well. He's a great coach but has a lot of bad tactical patterns like building low scoring teams. But also there's a reason Bayern is called FC Hollywood. It takes a lot of ego to sell Lewandowski and then buy unproven replacements like Mane or Kane and fire people like Nagelsmann and Ancelotti for minor problems.

Not a lot of news for Mainz.
The positive:
Burkardt signed a new contract until 2027.

The negative:
Management is confident that the current roster is good enough.

Still no strikers with pace and no playmaker on the roster. Yikes.

Both Leverkusen strikers Boniface and Schick basically done for the season.

Congratulations Bayern to winning the league.

Still more competitive than top of the epl. What are the odds kusen buys players this winter to bid for the league?

Guess they are going to do something.
Just not sure whether they have cash to do anything significant.

1-1 draw against Wolfsburg.

Terrible game.
We play more sidewards than forward.

Management still seems to think that the roster is good enough.

If we are relegated it will be well deserved.

At this point all we are fighting for is the 15th and 16th spot.

Union has the better roster, though.

January 21.
We still don’t have a left footed LB.
We still don’t have a creative CM/OM.
We still don’t have a winger or striker with pace and finishing ability.

Management flat out doesn’t seem to care.

Terrible performance.

32 hours left to sign a player.
Still no new players in sight.
Seems like management wants to be relegated.

Looks like we are signing Nadiem Amiri.
He should be better than what we have but overall an underwhelming transfer.
We keep on buying players who are in the twilight of their career either in the end of their 20s or early 30s.

Transfers like this destroy squad value over time. Better hope that Amiri is enough to at least get to the 16th spot and avoid relegation.

And Ngankam on loan.

That should provide some speed for our slow strikers.

Nothing to be excited about but we may finally not have the worst bench in the league anymore.

Penalty or no penalty?

Needless to say we did not get a penalty.

Has to be a penalty.
It's time for 5 refs.

It's definitely a foul, skeptical it should be a penalty since the odds of that becoming a goal whether or not the first defender interferes is very low given the shot choice. Reminded me of Inter in the UCL final. Header shots are low conversion and overused. Guy should have headed it towards his foot to power it in.
