Good.
One of the few bright spots.

He was terrible to start the season but has really improved since then.

He is banned next game on his 5th yellow, though.

2-2 vs. Frankfurt after leading 2-0. 5 points from the games against Union, Wolfsburg and Frankfurt are good, but it's the fifth time this season that we have scored 2 goals and didn't win. Pretty annoying, but three things are certain: death, taxes and Werder being bad defensively.

That's almost always been the case, since Bayern can fill their weak NT positions with skilled foreigners. The same pattern happens with a lot of the favorite clubs in Europe. Nags is still figuring out how to use the NT as well.

Result sucks. But it was a step into the right direction.
Played much better than against Darmstadt and dropped the horrible back 5.

Jonny Burkardt and Silvan Widmer are back. Missed those two.

The atmosphere at Hoffenheim is dreadful.
Felt like they have 300 home fans max.

Ajorque is a bum.

Missed the empty net.
Didn’t even shoot on target alone in front of the keeper.
In total 5 great chances created for him by the team but he is just a dreadful finisher.

We lost in the first round vs. Viktoria f***ing Köln. Didn't watch anything yesterday. But my father (Frankfurt fan) said they didn't have a single chance against Saarbrücken.

Frankfurt loses without a chance against third division team Saarbrücken and massacres Bayern a few days later. I mean, sure. Why not.

Also looking good for us vs. Augsburg. Would be an important win.

Gruda & Burkardt are fun young players, if they stay fit Mainz should start scoring again...Weiper's a good one too but he's still out.

He is absolutely dreadful.
They could just start Burkardt and Gruda as striker duo.

Hopefully Weiper's knee heals soon and you can just roll with those three kids up front. I like all 3 and they would be a nice blend of complementary skillsets.

- Joni with his crafty offball movement, vision, and nose for goal
- Gruda the tricksy little dribbler, who can create danger when someone has to run at defenders & force an opening


This was a pretty good game for the kids I rate for the NT. Burkardt almost snagged a goal before coming off; Gruda's end product wasn't good enough today but he created a lot of danger; and Martel was his typical secure self in front of that Köln backline.

Ajorque is terrible. I hate him. He doesn't do anything particularly well except for blowing quality chances and is the slowest player on the pitch every time he is out there.

Burkardts contract is running out at the end of the season. I hope they will manage to prolong it.
But chances are slim. If we are relegated then he is gone for sure.

Gruda and Weiper need some time to develop. Gruda is going to be a very good player once it is all said and done but right now he is still lacking the efficiency too often. Once he finds that he will be a nightmare for every defender.

I hope Weiper is back in shape sooner than later because we have no CF who can score goals at all on the roster thanks to Ajorque and Onisiwo having dreadful seasons.

I wish they would just move to a 4-4-2 with Burkardt and Gruda up top, but for whatever reason Ajorque is in the lineup every single game.

I think that you, Köln, and us have the quality to get clear, but Darmstadt, Bochum, and Heidenheim aren't going to just roll over and Heidenheim seems to have the quality to stay up too. With the 3rd spot in BuLi2 looking like it'll go to a traditional club atm, the relegation playoff could be very competitive.

Clubs have voted in favor of accepting an investor that will give them money now for selling a part of 20 years of future tv money.

I have to think this is an incredibly stupid and short-sighted move that will move more clubs into red figures long-term and only benefit the current established top clubs.

No idea how anyone can be so stupid to accept this but apparently 2/3rds of the clubs are that stupid (probably including Mainz - I am ashamed).
