News of the weekend:

1) Klopp returned home.
2) Prince Harry is officially a 05er bandwagoner now.
3) German NT lost again.

Thoughts on Hansi Flick's dismissal? Who would you like to see replace him?

I think the first person I would call is Louis van Gaal. Has a clear vision of football instead of the constant (unsuccessful) experiments under Flick, is a person of respect, has plenty of experience and speaks German. He also is not from this entire DFB clique. But he's 72 now and had cancer. I don't know how he is doing now.

The win against France today pretty much confirmed that the team was done with Flick and didn’t give a damn.
Should go for Nagelsmann if he accepts.

Great game so far between Bayern and Leverkusen. 1-1 after about 25 minutes. Kane opened the scoring with a close range header after a nice corner, but Grimaldo just equalised with a wonderfully struck free kick.

2-1 to Bayern, Goretzka scores. Wonderful attacking game of football.

Leverkusen have made a lot of chances, but Wirtz and Boniface have been so wasteful.

2-2. Incredibly soft penalty for Leverkusen to level it at the death.

I didn‘t watch but Leverkusen and to a lesser extent Leipzig are probably Bayerns biggest competition this season.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Dortmund 4th at best. I dislike what they did in the transfer window.

Heidenheim coach Frank Schmidt will break Volker Finke's record tomorrow. 16 years with one club. Congratulations!

Because of the opponent I still hope he loses.

We play dreadful.
Can’t even call it football.

We don’t even get to the opposing half. Just kick and rush. And lose the ball.

All the players who didn't get a chance at Werder are scoring against us this season and playing our "defense" dizzy.

@Foye:
Do you think Svensson is on the hot seat? I didn't see the game yesterday, but he seemed pretty helpless in the interview.

I don’t think he is.
I don’t think anybody else could fix our team at the moment. They just let fairly good players go and the only signing that might be decent is Krauß.

That said - I was in the stadium yesterday and once again shocked given the horrible football we play. I wouldn’t even call it football anymore.
We would lead any NFL statistics in punting at the moment. LMAO.

Svensson ball has never been the most attractive offensive football. He basically doesn’t care how to get into the opposing half us long as you don’t take any risk doing it.
And once we have reached the opposing half - often by accident - then he wants us to start playing.

However, the roster is so dreadful that we do not have anyone who can complete a couple low passes in a row anymore.
No offensive midfielder, no replacement for Stach, no fast paced striker, relying too much on our youngsters (great talents but unproven), no reliable CBs.
For yesterdays game they couldn’t even field a full bench because the roster is too small and lots of injuries.

I have a hard time envisioning how we are supposed to pick up points.
Next week at Augsburg is a very important game. I have no hope whatsoever that we are going to pick up points.

Weiper having knee surgery. Our striker rotation is down to Ajorque and Onisiwo.
Yikes.

Looking at our starting XI ahead of the important game in Augsburg.

I am ready to admit defeat before the game is even played. Dreadful XI.

Lost 2:1

Couldn’t create any chance 11 vs 10 in 30 minutes.

We are so getting relegated.

Kane is different gravy, hat trick and two assists in a 7-0 win today. I'd probably be feeling sick if Spurs had started this season badly, but truthfully I don't mind seeing it.

Signed Guilavogui from the left-over sale.

Guess he can't be any worse than Bell. Although, his traditional position is DM, not CB.
Should help a little. At least he isn't as slow as Bell is.

Lost 0:3 against Leverkusen.

Sadly, this was our best game of the season but the defense is still absolutely dreadful and the offense doesn’t create enough.

If we play all games like yesterday we may start to pickup points once the home games against Bayern and Leipzig are out of the way.

U19 team is still fun too watch, though.
3:2 victory against Stuttgart pushed them to the top of the U19 Bundesliga standings.

7th straight victory for the u19 squad.

2:0 victory at NK Maribor in the first youth league game ever for Mainz.

At least one of our squads is playing well.

If nothing else, Mainz does have an excellent kit.
It's time for 5 refs.
