Stephens playing scared in the 1st set, not going to be much of a match if that doesn't change.

Sloane is the textbook definition of talented but inexperienced. In her first major QF, she's playing her idol and probably the GOAT. She's been hit and miss. It's obvious that she's been playing tight, but it looked like she was starting to play out of it before Serena got injured. Then, presumably out of nervousness, she couldn't close the set when it was served to her on a platter.

I am very confident she'll be able to get over this as she gains experience, but in the present this is a huge opportunity for her. Not ideally how you want to win a match, but it's an opportunity nonetheless.

This is a weird situation. I wouldn't count Serena out just yet, she can barely serve but looks totally fine off the ground.

Gotta appreciate Serena's heart and competitiveness. She's like a female Kobe/KG

That was some really good tennis at the end there. I hope Sloane beats the **** out of Azarenka, I hate her.

Tsonga/Federer an incredibly high-quality match. Federer shanking a few, but still close to closing it out after 5 sets. Tsonga may not have a huge number of weapons, but he's got almost no weaknesses either.

Man American tennis has needed someone like Sloane to start getting some attention pretty badly.

Especially since it's not coming from the men's side anytime soon.

Fed/Tsonga was a great match too, Jo-Willy always plays Roger tough in majors.

Stephens wasn't even sure that she could beat Williams until she woke up Wednesday.

"When I got up, I was like, `Look, Dude, like, you can do this.' Like, `Go out and play and do your best," she said.

Oooh teenagers

The Young Bulls run out the Old Bulls... but the young bulls grow old too...

Li Na is awesome, she put a total beatdown on Sharapova and she seems like the nicest person ever.

Sloane doesn't have anything left against Azarenka.

I've always disliked Azarenka. She took that "injury" timeout just to try break Sloane's momentum and regroup.
