I've been tossing this idea around in my head:
Suns trade: Tucker/Cavs 2016 First/Suns 2016 2nd
Suns get: McGary/Waiters
Suns add youth to their bench. Waiters is a low risk high reward player as he's in the final year of his rookie deal. It allows Goodwin to get more minutes at PG, without forcing Booker into the lineup too early. McGary gives them potential at the PF, and in a year will slide to the #2 PF.
Chandler/Len
Morris/Tele/McGary
Warren/Weems
Bledsoe/Waiters/Booker
Knight/Goodwin
Cavs trade: Haywood
Cavs get: Tucker
Cavs get a legit 3D guy to play behind Lebron. He'd replace all those aged vets (Marion/Miller/Jones) and give them someone they could actually throw in the floor for more than 5 minutes a night.
Thunder trade: McGary/Waiters
Thunder get: Haywood/Cavs 2016 First/Suns 2016 2nd
Thunder clear a good amount of salary. Chances of Waiters being re-signed are nil, and adding picks gives them the ability to retain their max guys and add cheap youth to surround them.

As much as i would love for Goodwin to pan out, i just dont know if he is going to. And with Booker/Bogdan on the roster in 2016, i just dont see room for him. Additionally i dont see him having the handles/vision to backup at the PG slot. Waiters gives them a young kid to plug in, that they'd probably wouldnt want to extend come next season. McGary would get a year to play behind Morris/Tele, and then probably move into the #2 PF slot after this season.

Thunder clear a decent amount of cap space, and add a prospect to replace Waiters. McGary isnt going to get much burn behind Kanter/Ibaka/Adams/Durant, especially if OKC is looking to contend.
I wouldn't want to extend Waiters. I wouldn't want him on the team. **** that guy
I like McGary though and it's a pretty well thought out trade, but the Suns wouldn't even touch Waiters with a 10 foot pole. Makes sense for everyone but us

sorry, i edited my original....feel free to comment on either one of the proposals.
agreed with Waiters though. He's merely a stop-gap until Booker gets a little older and Bogdan comes over from Europe.
