Personally i like 12 player leagues more.

I don't know if you can expand benches, but one solution to kind of be an in between is to do a 12 team league with an extra bench spot.

With a 12 team league, 144 players get drafted. With a 14 team league, 168 players get drafted. That leaves a little slim pickins on the available free agents with 24 fewer players.

If you added an extra bench spot to a 12 team league, then 156 players would get drafted. It would also lessen the risk of an injury derailing your team because you'd have a deeper bench (and teams would be a little better top to bottom in the 12 team league to start with). But 12 additional players (then would be available in a 14 team league) would be free agents or on waivers instead of 24.

12 team leagues also will make it a little easier to catch up or not allow someone to run away as much early since the rosters overall will be better.

I agree. Less players = Better Roster. It sucks when you have one of your top guys go down from injury, but its a lot easier to stay in the hunt when there are better players on your squad due to less people.

I guess the main problem with going to 12 team leagues is that it was said last year that top 3 and bottom 3 would switch leagues, and it's the only real "prize" to go for. So personally I was aiming all year for the top 3 in the D league.

Would kind of suck for rules to change and the leagues stay the same. I think it is nice to have some sort of incentive to not be really bad and to try and be really good or people will just care less.

Maybe push off the 12 team leagues until next year and just try to have a minimum # of teams (12+) for the last league this year. Then the rules this year can just be the bottom 4 of PL are relegated to the D league, top 2 of the D league can move up. The bottom 5 teams of the D league are pushed down to the Beijing Starbury Ducks, while only 1 team from that league jumps up in the first year. Then go to something more normal after that.

2007-2008 : 15 teams
2008-2009 : 16 teams
2009-2010 : 13 teams
2010-2011 : 13 teams
2011-2012 : 13 teams
2012-2013 : 12 teams
2013-2014 : 14 teams.

Anyways, we can't cut down premier league size since last year we already agreed on 3 relegations and 3 promotions, and it wouldn't be fair to last years' players.
If we do get enuf peeps to make 3 leagues then maybe the D-League can be 12 players, in which case we can always switch spots if ya like

Premier league will be 14 teams either way with 3 demotions from last year (myself included), and 3 D-League promotions.

We will need to get at least 21 other interested participants if we're gonna be making 3 total leagues, in which case D-League should have at least 12 members, and China league the rest.
