Guys here is what we must think about it in that article:

" A silver lining: The Dragon started off slow last season, too. He shot 21% from 3 over the first 10 games of the 2013-2014 season, but ended with a juicy 41%. Dragic will come on eventually. "

Goran shot 50% from the field last season...

:o

He's only attempted ten jump shots, all threes, and made four of ten. That's 40% three point shooting. (He had two shots blocked under the basket by the Lakers.)

He's a great shooter and he will end up with the highest 3P% on the team. He just needs to find his place and get more attempts.

RunDogGun wrote:Isn't Tollver shooting 40% from three right now?

You're totally right. I barely notice him in games and the times I have, he's been hitting nothing but rim.

My point still stands though, no team seems to respect his shot despite showing in the past that he can hit the 3. Defensively also, he's still getting into the swing of things in terms of rotations.

Our starting crew is simply not working:

Bled-Dragic-Morris-Morris-Plumlee
OffRtg: 103.5
DefRtg: 109.1
NetRtg: -5.7

That’s with a 92-minute sample size, which is a decent threshold (although obviously only vs a few teams so far).

Contrast with last year’s starting units:

Bled-Dragic-Tucker-Frye-Plumlee
OffRtg: 105.9
DefRtg: 95.9
NetRtg: +10.0

Dragic-Green-Tucker-Frye-Plumlee
OffRtg: 113.3
DefRtg: 108.4
NetRtg: +4.9

We’re holding our own in games, however, because our bench and various hacked lineups are rolling.

How soon do we shake up the starting crew? Who do we try instead?

The only logical move I can think of is to run with Tolliver at the 4. This would mean Morri can come off the bench again to wreck havoc.

I think we need to try Bled-Dragic-Tucker-Tolliver-Plumlee

I'd rather start Tucker at SF and move Marcus to PF.

That could also work

I like that. Didn't that work pretty well preseason??

I like that too. SF88, that means...YOU AND I AGREE ON SOMETHING.

I think we will start seeing a lot of PG/PG/Tucker/Morrii/Morrii soon. I still think they will start the game with Plumlee out there but I bet he and Len will start combining for closer to 35 mpg as opposed to the 44 minutes they are averaging right now.

I would go with this starters/bench combo:

Starters . . . Bled-Dragic-Tucker-Tolliver-Plumlee
Bench . . . IT-Green-Marcus-Markieff-Len

But the starting unit isn’t the go-to unit, and the “starters” don’t necessarily get starter minutes.

Possible go-to units (depending on match-ups/what’s working):

PG-Guard-Tucker-Marcus-Plumlee/Len
PG-PG-Guard-Tucker-Markieff
PG-Guard-Tucker-Marcus-Markieff

(Now that I look at it, that’s a lot of possible combos…)

Starting Tolliver over Markieff is such a terrible idea...

Don't knock it till you've tried it.

I tried it in NBA2K15 and won 6 straight NBA championships.

(Just kidding, it was only 5.)

(Not really. But I don't think it's that terrible of an idea.)

Why?

(It wouldn't be saying that Tolliver>Markieff. Does Pop think that Danny Green>Manu?)

I'm all for starting Tolly or Mook at the 4 since both are better catch and shoot bigs than Kieff. That also frees Kieff up to work more in the paint.

Starters looked horrendous again tonight early.

4th quarter lineup that rocked it was IT-Dragic-Green-Markieff-Plumlee. Triple guards, but then more typical frontcourt.

Time to start PJ to start games well. Then Marcus could add to deadly shooting the bench already have.
