Archie Goodwin was working on his three point shooting as well, along with Isaiah Thomas and Gerald Green who were taking turns with him. Archie wasn't hitting quite as many as Isaiah or Gerald, but was still making quite a few and is obviously working hard at developing that aspect of his game.

When he's ready he will play.

But why practice, when you can brick those threes in a game? :D

Dude is young with lots to learn, hopefully he will get there and bump someone out of rotation. It's really all up to him. If it were me, I would be shooting every chance I had, and before bed every night I would choose a great guard and watch game footage of them. Then if I was lucky enough to get into a game, I would apply what I learned. That game time could be DLeague time as well. All out hustle will get you places in this league. You have that with a decent BBIQ, and you should easily crack a rotation with some skills.

Read the article about Mathews/Hornecek... he is a great example of the path Archie is on. Very few one dimensional guards stick around in this league. Well, they may stick, but they are Piners in the double digit chairs.

Made me hunt it down Frank. Matthews only beat Horny two times in all their practice sessions. Really good article ... maybe Goodwin will read it.

10000 hours ... http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-26384712

That's what researchers say it takes to be an expert at something. I think when you have someone with athletic talent who puts in 10000 hours a star emerges. Goodwin is really young, I'd be surprised if he is close to 10,000 hours. Remember that's 5 years of a full-time job ... 8 hours a day x 5 days a week. Going through high school and college there is no way he put those types of hours in. Starting at age 5 he would have to practice 2 hours a day, seven days a week to get there. A big part of that time would need to include a coach to show him proper techniques and fix problem areas.

This is the problem with drafting young athletic potential. The player has to be willing to put in huge number of hours without getting frustrated.

I think Goodwin puts in way more time than a guy like Gerald Green who is a one trick pony in that all he could do is shoot while not even being efficient at that.
