Also I am a bit behind on Arrow and The Flash, which I have watched...not great shows but entertaining enough if you don't have the super exciting Suns games to watch.

Apparently it's a good show although I don't like the premise of it. Too gimmicky :(

Homeland with an extremely solid season this year. I just watched all the episodes so far over the last few days. Any watching it this year?

I think I stopped watching after the end of the 1st or 2nd season when the dude was first shown in his garage praying the islamic way suggesting he has turned. Haven't picked it up since.

I'm probably mad late to the party but I've just started watching Narcos. Awesome show but all the subtitles means I can't be doing anything else while watching it.

I've heard pretty good things about Narcos but haven't watched it. There is a thread about it in Media Forum. If you ever do return to Homeland you should just start with season 4. It kind of went downhill in 2 and 3 but then got great in 4 and is really great this year.

Four and five have nothing to do with the stuff that happened prior.

hmmm....i can dig this thread.

W/ Bob And David, which was unbelievably funny.

this led directly to Mr. Show with Bob and David on YouTube, which is even funnier. (Bob Odenkirk from Better Call Saul, and David Cross (Tobias Funke, Arrested Development). never figured them for sketch comedians, but they're the best i've seen)

anybody see Master of None? Really good. i give it 92/100. Aziz gets serious, but his personality & creativity powers the show.

Really enjoyed Master of None. Aziz is starting to go next level with his comedy.

I've only seen one episode of W/ Bob and David, but I'm looking forward to continuing. I've also seen John Mulaney's The Comeback Kid, which I really liked. Caught a few episodes of Life in Pieces which is pretty good. But my favorite show right now is You're the Worst.

ohhh....i started on The Comeback Kid. what a LETDOWN. Mulaney is such a good stand up comic, but the sudden persona change on Comeback Kid didn't work for him at all.

you have to watch New In Town, also in Netflix. THAT is priceless. you'll see the difference.

Really? I saw New in Town, and really liked it, but I thought The Comeback Kid was better. Did you stick with it till the end? I thought that Clinton story was gold.

Breaking Bad's probably the best show ever imo. The first episode was kinda dry for me but I caught on and really got into after the second episode on.

Love prison break. I'd say the first couple seasons are really good until they got locked up in the other country.

Suits is one of the only 3 shows that I currently watch. Great show and a really nice insight into lawyers and such.

The other two shows are Modern Family (absolutely hilarious) and Better Call Saul (has the potential to be better than Breaking Bad). BCS is my favorite right now, can't wait till next season starts!

i guess i could muscle through it. the awkward, nervous, 20 something Larry David-type lines from New In Town were replaced with "I'm Catholic, I'm married and I'm an adult of some kind." first half hour didn't work for me at all

as far as movies go, Ex Machina is.....it's a Kubrick. it's 2001 in.....I don't want to spoil it if you haven't seen it, but it is a classic film. on the level of 2001, Apocalypse Now, etc. Garland is Kaufman-esque in his complexity, but unlike Kaufman the film is a little accessible. whew.....i couldn't speak more highly of it.

Steve Jobs is stellar. Michael Fassbender is winning the Oscar. there is no question. when you see it, you will see - it's one of the best acting performances of all time. maybe 5% better than Denzel in Training Day, if you can believe that.

can't wait for Creed. not at all psyched for Spectre - somebody tell me if it was any good. Burnt is a 70/100; definitely worth the price of admission. is Southpaw that good? wasn't expecting that. the one question mark for me is Black Mass. Depp is frightening as Bulger. he's worth the price of admission all by himself. the rest of the movie really isn't written that well. too many sub-characters, too much skipping, not enough development. it is good, but it's got noticeable holes in it.

crossover note: wasn't LeBron hilarious in Trainwreck? anybody see that?

I loved Ex Machina. If you liked Ex Machina, I'd recommend Snowpiercer. If you can buy into the premise, it's a really good movie.

Spectre was alright. If I were to rank the Daniel Craig Bond films, I'd go Skyfall, Casino Royal, Spectre and then Quantum of Solace. It's not bad, but it's a little disappointing coming off of Skyfall. It's worth a matinee ticket price with lowered expectations though.

Trainwreck was good. One of the funnier movies I've seen this year. I really like Inside Amy Schumer, so I was glad to see her do well with Trainwreck.

yeah, she's hip. it's almost like she's the female Daniel Tosh - there's nothing she won't say. Sarah Silverman really only does it on topic. Amy just goes there for no particular reason.

Love anything Aziz and Michael Schur does. Liking Master Of None so far. Just like you, I only saw one episode of W Bob and David and I'm not sure what to think yet haha.

so, if you do like W/ Bob and David, check out Mr. Show. do you guys know Mr. Show? it's that, but 30% better. Bob and David had it on HBO in 1995. here's the YouTube link for the first episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mkygef8_SEI&list=PLSaRzcqvDI0JbPH0_TuL7MRXSyhRneEnD

and if you don't like W/ Bob and David, check out Mr. Show, because it's 30% better (although W/ Bob and David is a super solid 93/100, IMO)

i must call attention to the hilarity of Review. it is the funniest thing on Earth, and if it doesn't get renewed for Season 3 i'm going to throw several things.

Andy Daly plays Forrest MacNeil, who is asked to review life experiences. he has to do whatever the reviewer asks. he is asked to review divorce, so he tries to break up with his wife without knowing why.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKV1g47MUP4

he also reviews being a little person: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92aKaMA8Arw
this, whatever it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TevtfJNVCMY

Ex Machina was awesome. I wasn't terribly high on Steve Jobs, but I had read the book and would have liked to see more, like when and how he got involved with Pixar.

And I don't know that his acting performance is hands down the best of the year. I've seen a bunch of great ones. Paul Dano in Love & Mercy, Jake Gyllenhall in Southpaw (though neither of them will likely get nominated due to the movies being either not wide release/seen by many (Love & Mercy) or not reviewed well (Southpaw). You also still have Tom Hardy (playing twins in Legend and also in The Revenant), and Leo also in The Revenant.

But you may be right...one site projects these in the nominees, in order of their likely chances.

The Predicted Five:

1. Leonardo DiCaprio, "The Revenant"
2. Michael Fassbender, "Steve Jobs"
3. Matt Damon, "The Martian"
4. Eddie Redmayne, "The Danish Girl"
5. Johnny Depp, "Black Mass"
