Welcome Damion Lee

This guy deserves his own thread lol.

Not only he scored in the clutch but he contested well that last attempt from Doncic.

He also forced two offensive fouls on him by Doncic and DFS in the 4th I think. Deserves his own thread based on his play on both ends. Hopefully he has many more such performances. :)

It's always nice when Suns get a surprise performance from a bench player not named Cam. Seriously this was a breath of fresh air to see someone else step up. I have been waiting for a performance like this from someone off the bench almost all of last season (not players name Cam). I don't foresee it happening, but if he can be a consistent bench player I will be very happy.

True. In real time, I complimented Lee and he would give Luka an And1, it happened twice. But after each And1 I said how trash Lee was, and all of a sudden he hits a three. Lee knows...

Happy for Lee! .......I truly am. But it's only one game and one lucky outlier shot that has everyone going crazy over here! Might want to temper expectations and projections a bit on his value as there's a reason he was available for the minimum and not still on the Warriors after all. He's a decent 3rd string player that can get streaky like anyone else. He hit a big shot and it should be celebrated as such. Give the man his roses for this game! But this doesn't change the outlook or trajectory of our bench my any measure.

Amazing debut for Lee but like GoK said, let's keep things reasonable, it's just one game. Could he prove to be a solid rotation guy for us, absolutely but let's let that play out and not put undue pressure on the guy to be our saviour lol

Here's a stat from yesterday's pod: Damion Lee is shooting 64% (18-28) from deep in the 4th quarter this season

If you don't FIND that shooter

He's been so solid. If he keeps this up, he's a viable rotation player in the playoffs. Not sure he'll sustain this through the course of the season, especially that 3P%.

We can say that he is a solid rotation player for us after 16 games into the season.

He has played in every game and is averaging 20.3 mpg.

7.6 points and 3 rebounds shooting 50% from three and 88% from the FT line. And he adds lots of intangibles and good defense.

I imagine his shooting has to cool at some point but man has he been a hell of a find. His experience playing in a fast decision system in GS really shows. I'm shocked how well he's got in and how important of a bench piece he's become.

Agree with sreekar here

This dude deserves more minutes. He's clutch, smart, and an offensive spark plug.

I'm fine seeing Shamet in the regular season - in the playoffs? Nah.

Gimme D-elivery Lee every day.

"D.Lee's just a pro... It feels like we've been teammates for like 10 years. He's just one of them guys that knows the game."- CP3 on Damion Lee.

His last six games (3W-3L):

17.3 points
4 boards
3.7 assists
15/29 from threes (52%)

How is gonna be his next contract?

Pretty sure that he will get more than $5M per year. That's his floor IMO.

Golden State shooing Curry's brother-in-law out the door despite his being a decent player remains one of the more bizarre subplots from last offseason.

Lee can only be retained using one of his exceptions because we don't have the cap space and because he's only signed for 1 year, we don't even have early bird rights. So MLE is $6.8m so if you give him around $5-6m, it won't leave much for anything else. Kind of makes it more critical to turn Dario/Crowder's expiring deals into players on at least a 2 year deal left.

From Friday:

"Hope to get him back as soon as possible. Hoping he can be a factor in our season."

Frank Vogel on Damion Lee (knee). Hasn't played all season. Hope he's back by end of regular season.

Still no on-court work, Vogel said. Rode stationary bike before game

No idea what this org or fanbase sees in him for the past few years.
